What is BDNF?
Neurotrophin:
BDNF belongs to a family of proteins called neurotrophins, which are involved in the development, maintenance, and survival of neurons. 
Key Functions:
BDNF is involved in:
Neuronal Survival: It promotes the survival of existing neurons. 
Neurogenesis: It stimulates the growth and differentiation of new neurons. 
Synaptic Plasticity: BDNF is crucial for synaptic plasticity, the ability of synapses (connections between neurons) to strengthen or weaken over time, which is essential for learning and memory. 
Learning and Memory: BDNF is implicated in the formation and consolidation of memories. 
Brain Health: BDNF helps maintain the health and function of neurons, and disruptions in BDNF levels have been linked to various brain disorders. 
Where is BDNF Found?
Brain: BDNF is widely expressed in the central nervous system (CNS), especially in the brain, including areas like the neocortex, hippocampus, amygdala, and cerebellum. 
Peripheral Nervous System: BDNF is also found in the peripheral nervous system.

Drawing influence from such labels as Terminal M, Kraftek, Drumcode, Spinnin’ Deep and Defected, as well listing DJs like Daniel Avery, Enrico Sangiuliano, ANNA and Sam Divine as some of her many inspirations, light gal creates unique and exploratory sets ranging from vocal soulful house to dark and melodic techno.
