A few days later I dreamed I was playing the song about him, and when I woke up the whole thing was in my head.

I wrote this song for my beloved sister Lizzie after one of the last times we saw each other. May you continue to take tiny steps in the right direction, and know how much you are loved. You are stronger than you know, and you can get through this.

I wrote this song after watching and listening to a ton of interviews and music at my first every Americanafest. I think there's something powerful "in the water" here in Nashville, and it's a whole lot of music and love. I woke up with the song in my head and went to work, and then I put it on my 2020 "Future Memories" album (co-produced with the amazingly talented Wilson Harwood in Nashville). I always think of my sister Lizzy when I sing perform this one.

I wrote this around Thanksgiving 2020, missing my friends and family. I've been so grateful to have my husband and kids close for the last year. Some of my friends live alone in tiny apartments in Manhattan, and I can't imagine not being able to see and hold people.

Sarah is a South African American singer songwriter, composer, pianist, producer living in Nashville TN with her family. A highlight of her career was performing for President Nelson Mandela before moving the the US for grad school (masters in opera). Sarah was a middle and high school music teacher for many years in NYC before moving to Nashville. She toured Italy, Spain and Portugal with her performance groups and she misses her students and teaching, but she is ecstatic to be writing/producing full time and raising her three beautiful boys in Music City.
