Radiation Blues is all about the Chernobyl disaster, singer Harry said “The lyrics are a play-by-play of what happened hour-by-hour. I read accounts of people involved and used that as a way of retelling the story of this awful event through a more easily digestible medium”. 

This song has Pigeon Wigs in full bat-eating mode, an ode to their favourite rockers growing up, instrumentally and vocally. Harry also said “I almost passed out singing that last big note, I’d not practiced it at all before recording as I’d only done it once before whilst jamming with the band. They asked me to do it last minute in the studio and after the first attempt I was seeing stars, I did it one more time but I think that first wail is the one that appears on the recording”.
