My First Ravanscroft Piano record

To learn and practice deep meditation is a way to get focused  and to free up our narrow ego into a pool of higher consciousness. As this piece was totally improvised - this  prove a high and strange level processing into a nearly,, inhuman" quality and state. Different from all  my approach before. The piano track was later dressed up with with tabla and percussions, simply based on the e rhythm of my piano.

Time Machine

Improvised piece with more classical style and traditional elements using counterpoint technique or baroque ornaments. For a jazz pianist it is like flying to the island of peace.  So it  gives  challenge and  adventure with a feeling of time travel back to the past. One's spirit goes high -as by miracle we can speak fluently the music language of our ancestors. And wiht this you can sense their religious approach, they way of  love and many more ,,nuance". Yes, the very reason playing such a music is the conscious real time travel for better  understanding who we are and where we are came from...

Romantic Fantasy

The Meridian, with my Time Machine and Big Blues represent a new experiment in my music approach. It is a music meditation, or meditation trough and with instrument and music. - The music must be  totally improvised by the invention, moment, mood and characteristics of the music itself while I as a player consider myself secondary in a guided position of  a medium or a mediator. MERIDIAN

Tony Lakatos on sopran sax, Pappa Csaba on drums, Hársszegi Miklós on bass.

From technical viewpoint the way this music  was constructed has been  evolved from the path of Miles Davis- Wayne Shorter - Herbie Hancock concept which  sadly ended with the ,,Miles Smiles" record and with the disintegration of the legendary Miles quintet. 


From viewpoint of music theory that was the highest peak in jazz music ever.   This approach also has parallels in classical music too, starting from Wagner and it is called ,, leitmotiv " The point of ,, leitmotiv' technique is to build melody lines  just based on the motives itself. This is the most basic  ancient, powerful knowledge of music constriction. But for today it is nearly totally forgotten or mishandled by the present music theories - with primery  hegemony  on  harmony concepts.

All in all - the footprints the Miles quintet left behind still miraculous and not properly understand even today and nor musician not a composer or band has enough talent to fit their  foot into this trace. So the footprints of Miles just waits, but it is a real compass and shows proper advenced direction for all the newcomers. All the while  Miles is heaven just smiles.
