Heyyyy everyone! 

Hope you're all doing great and are all well hydrated while summer and sun burn in some areas !
I did not even expect to talk to you this early, compared to the gap in release date between Universe and Akuma no Ko (more than a year) !

This month went so fast I don't even feel much happened ... while TONS happened !! 
Many friends visiting, especially friends from Canada I hadn't seen since 2018, a certain german specimen, a certain Banana Prince as well, and I also got to party with some in Brussels ! 
Hung out with family again and gf got her driving licence !
At the end of the day, I still have tons of things to do aside of work but ayyy welcome to maso life again ! Way to go right ?!
I guess summer and its longer days helps me maintaining some sanity and a clearer mind, hoping it'll last for long !!

Anyway, let me introduce you the new release of today. This is a song release by Kenshi Yonezu (Hachi-P for people coming from the Vocaloid era). 
The song was release in July 2021 and inspired me right away. The atmosphere immediately reminded me the loose, upbeat and teasing vibe from Flamingo ! 
Minimalistic instrumentation but very effective in terms of contrasts and energy. 
The main challenges I faced while arranging the instrumental were mainly about finding the perfect balance between, getting the same DIY vibe from the original version and turning it into a dirtier arrangement, with more distortion and more grit !!
On the vocal side, I had to get out of my comfort zone and sing in my lower range, trying to sound "bored" yet still "singing" ! 
Man ... this song was so inspiring to arrange and sing !! I admit Anba telling me more about the lore of the song, really helped me grasp the mood !
The song comes from a famous Rakugou (japanese satirical story telling) from the same name (死神) about a man about to end his life out of boredom until a Shinigami tells him to become a doctor and save dying people by granting him the ability to push away death itself.
The man uses and abuses his skill out of greed until he realizes by doing so, he was shortening his own lifespan as well, materialized by a candle getting shorter and shorter.
He'd then have to transfer the flame from his candle to another bigger one. Right before succeeding, the Shinigami tricks him and blows on the flame (⊙_⊙). 

This was (again) a long project but a very fun one to work on ! Hope you guys will enjoy !
