Rates of depression and anxiety are rising in our modern world. The pace of life is growing ever faster and we are losing touch with our true inner peace and power. When we no longer feel grounded, we can experience ourselves pushed and pulled in many different directions. It is at this point that we start to experience stress and a feeling of being trapped. Gradually, over time, this feeling leads to illness and disease, as our mental, emotional and physical health is thrown out of balance.

THIS IS WHY I WROTE THIS TRACK, FUCKERS!!! TIME TO MEDITATE!

Meditation is the journey inwards, a journey of self-discovery or, in fact, re-discovery. Meditation is time taken for quiet reflection and silence, away from the hustle and bustle of daily living. Taking time out enables us to come back to a centred place of being. Meditation is a state of being in that place just beyond every day consciousness, which is where spiritual empowerment begins.

Spiritual awareness gives us the power to choose good and positive thoughts over those which are negative and wasteful. We start to respond to situations, rather than just reacting to them. We begin to live with harmony, we create better and happier, healthier relationships and change our lives in a most positive way.

The Meditative State

This track is based on an eponymous speech by Robert W. Schambach, an American pastor and televangelist (1926 - 2012). As I'm not quite the religious kind of guy, I won't tell you I knew him because I had been following the evangelistic crusades he ran during his ministry. First time I heard his voice was in a 1992 Pragha Khan track, "Injected with a Poison", which you all know, right? That's the one where they first used the famous "Injected with a poison", "Are you listening to me?" and "We don't need that any more!" samples. Back then, I had absolutely no clue where these samples had been taken from. In 1997, I bought this awesome Cherry Moon 7 compilation (famous techno club in Belgium), with track 7 featuring "The Prophecy" by Kult Of Krameria. That's when I first heard the full speech, where these samples had been taken from. It's a speech about the Jonestown massacre that took place in 1978 in Jonestown, Guyana, where more than 900 members (1/3 kids!) of Jim Jones' sect, the "Peoples Temple", died of cyanide poisoning. This mass murder/suicide has been haunting me ever since, and so has the voice of R.W. Schambach. Years later, I googled out that this same speech had already been used in an earlier track, "RAM", by British dark industrial ambient band Zoviet France, and found out who this phenomenal voice and flow belonged to. Seconds later, I was listening to R.W. Schambach telling us about "The Treasures of Darkness". Here you go, hope you'll enjoy it! 😊👍
