These lyrics are inspired by the message Christ shared through Samuel the Lamanite preceding His birth (Helaman 13-15). I was drawn to messages of mercy, repentance, and the eternal treasures associated with redemption. It could be considered a Christmas song derived from The Book of Mormon or a general tribute to some of the gifts Jesus offers.

My sister in-law, Kelsey Watkins, told me about advice her father shared in his last months as he battled cancer. He taught, "serve while you can," summarizing a standard he devotedly lived. His message energized me to consecrate my efforts. I prepared this text to remember how I too can follow the Savior's example and cherish my chances to connect with others through acts of humble sacrifice. - Holly Boyd

In pondering a message I wanted to sing about Christmas, I felt the need to remember Heavenly Father who manifests His love through His Beloved Son and gave Him as a sacrifice to the world for our chance to overcome death and sin. Father Of Light (HYMN)

Joyful singing and faithful living inspire my creations, along with my husband and four kids. Always remembering my Savior invites light into my life, and music focused on His word helps me remember Him more meaningfully.
