Leevisa, a DJ, musician, and producer hailing from Seoul, now calls Toronto home. In the midst of overcoming the challenges of relocating and breaking through enduring cultural barriers, all while seeking happiness and nurturing her artistic spirit. Leevisa's musical direction diverges from club-centric tracks, as she delves into a quest for deeper expression, blending the sentimental value of her past with the newfound freedoms she experiences living in Canada.  In 2022, her EP Koreography (via Perpetual Care) captivated listeners and selectors, resonating on Tom Ravencroft’s 'musical journey around the world' and 'New Music Fix' on BBC Radio. It garnered support from Nikki Nair, Posh Isolation, along with commendable reviews and features from MixMag, DJ Mag, Ransom Note, Resident Advisor, The  Wire, and Visla Magazine.
While venturing outside her comfort zone, she enters into the world of film by composing the soundtrack for the South Korean full-length feature "The Other Child." (Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival/Far East Film Festival) Along with contributions for an exclusive mix for Apple Music (Cakeshop), crafting a remix for PZWorld Book published by IDEA.   Recognized by i-D magazine as one of rising female musicians in Seoul's underground scene, Leevisa merged into the world of art and fashion. Her portfolio includes performances for the distinguished fashion brand Hyein Seo and presenting an audio visual composition for Gucci’s curated exhibition “No Space, Just a Place” at the Daelim Museum in Korea.  Her performances include events like CTM, Unsound, Elsewhere, Rap Rave and the renowned Seoul club Cakeshop, sharing the decks with artists like Coucou Chloe, Vegyn, Juliana Huxtable, Kode9, Laurel Halo, and Kamixlo. Beyond her performances, Leevisa left her mark on the airwaves, delivering memorable mixes for NTS Radio, Balamii, and Seoul Community Radio.

Impersonating a River is your monthly militant sound toolkit—Instructive, evocative, multidirectional, and counter-historical. It is a transmission aimed at revealing how political and cultural ideologies are encoded in our surroundings, providing practical, theoretical, relational, and experimental tools to disrupt them. 
Hosted by Brussels-based artist I_Suck_Moss (Isaac Moss), whose work bridges sound art, performance, actions, and other community activities, this show is proudly queer and made with love, live from Brasserie Atlas.
Structured like modern, warped folktales, Isaac searches each month, alone or with friends, for sounds and voices that may have been forgotten, under-appreciated, suppressed, or misinterpreted. Each episode follows a theme drawn from these diverse starting points. 
Listeners may find themselves drifting between rogue dreams, forgotten texts, or bus stop conversations, often sprinkled with anti-colonial and anti-imperialist subliminal messaging — from the automatic and the prefabricated to the composting.

"J’ai fait du stop direction le Moulin des Arbres en Haute-Loire. Et après 6 voitures, j’ai rejoint tout un tas de gens au bord d’un lac. Le soir, j’ai dormi dans une chambre avec 6 ou 7 personnes. Sacrée bande que j’ai croisée là. Comme souvent, des moments particuliers et intenses sont vecteurs de rencontres profondes. Dès le lendemain, on s’est mis au travail pour préparer le festival, installer de la déco, faire la signalétique, pendant que petit à petit le lieu se remplissait de nouvelles rencontres à faire.
Et puis improviser aussi des plats pour 20 personnes. Faire des gâteaux énormes, ce genre de choses. Le festival en lui-même a été une zone magique, de lumières, de rencontres, de rires et aussi de quelques larmes. On aura dansé avec les sorcières et les fées au milieu de grands arbres, les pieds sur une terre qui respire. On aura dansé d'un bout à l'autre de la nuit avec, comme phare, un bar éclairé de guirlandes et baigné d’une lumière de lampe de chevet. Et on s’y sera retrouvé comme dans un village pour rejoindre les visages familiers que la nuit a avalés. On aura peu dormi, mais chaque seconde aura été étirée et vécue jusqu’à la dernière goutte. Et puis, après la marée, doucement, les gens nous ont quittés. Et je suis parti moi aussi. Étonnamment, direction Lyon, encore. Et après tout ça, retrouver la chaleur et le soleil de l’endroit qui m’a vu grandir. Épuisé de lumières et de rencontres." Ljо́tur

A couple months ago I started a project to turn my normal journaling process into a channel flipping experience! All the scratch work and raw ideas packaged together. I noticed I loved listening to all my nascent and unfinished ideas playing through my composition journals, so I decided all the new ones I would start making into a listening experience!
