Iron Curtis from Hamburg,Germany has always been an inspiration to me musically,so I wanted to celebrate his fantastic work..So this is a 2hr special playing some of my favourite tracks/remixes & re-fixes of his from over the years.His influences are mainly from the Detroit/Chicago vibe but he covers so many genres. Tokyo's @yoshi-horino and his @unknown-season imprint have become synonymous with raw, soulful and understated house music. He began DJing in 1991 and has seen the global rise of House music ever unfolding throughout Japan and further afield across the globe while his label was launched in 2010 and has since gone on to release material from many reputed figures in the contemporary House scene. We are not worthy! A big scalp for us here at Monologues as we invite one of our all-time favourite production outfits to contribute to the series. This '92-'24 retrospective from one of the mightiest names in house features unreleased Gabriels + Usher remix exclusives and a special edit of 'Lazy' exclusive to this mix. No-one does chunky house music better and we're delighted to have these history-makers be part of our long-running series. Strap yourself in for a tonking hour.

*How would you describe your sound?*

Our sound is for the dancefloor. Pure and simple. Whether that's the back room of a pub in Colnbrook or a huge mega tech rave in Mexico.

*What and who inspires you and influences your sound?* 

I guess it's all sorts of music that's influenced us over the years. Going way back to tribal music through Blues, jazz, rnb, reggae, soul, disco, house, techno, classical etc etc. We always go back to early house stuff if we're ever stuck in the studio. Just get back to the raw basics and go again!

*Can you tell us a little about this mix and what it means to you?*

This '92224' mix is basically a snap shot of some of the stuff that we, with Ashley for a huge chunk of it, have done or been involved with over the years. From our very first production together ('Muzik Xpress') bang up to the minute with our soon-to-be-released Gabriels remix. Getting this mix together has made me appreciate just how much we've done and makes me feel very proud of what 3 lads from west London have achieved musically. Listening back to it there's definitely a thread that runs through this 32 years of music and I think that hopefully, you can hear those answers to the first 2 questions contained within.

His esteemed labels Freerange and Delusions Of Grandeur continue to help break incredible new music and equally impressive acts such as Detroit Swindle, Tornado Wallace and Session Victim. From his UK base, Jimpster has inadvertently become a standard-bearer and custodian of the authentic house sound, and carries this flag to the four corners of the world.

As he puts it himself, “The mission is clear: to try to inject warmth, depth, soul, sincerity and attitude to both my productions and my DJ sets.
