We welcome a special guest with sharp ears, refined palette, and no shortage of accolades: Russell E.L Butler is a methodical and diligent student of music, thoughtfully pursuing and evoking concepts through sound as a highly inspired producer, exploratory DJ, and musical archivist (recently having worked on digitizing a large portion of Frankie Knuckle's extensive record collection). Inspired by personal experience and history, Butler sets concepts into motion with intellectually informed but emotionally mediated sounds. Butler is one half of Boyz2Them with Bounce alum and Philadelphia favorite Adab. With releases on labels like Opal Tapes, T4TLUVNRG, Fixed Rhythms, Left Hand Path, and Mister Saturday Night, Butler's production touches on classic house and machine-music-techno, with some slamming queer nonbinary anthems you may very well have heard on our dancefloor.

After a short break we're back stronger than ever with a very special guest!! Someone we met a few years ago on a visit to Djoon in Paris, who opened his home and heart to us. He became one of our sources of inspiration in every aspect; we are talking about the one and only Youness aka WhyBee.

A passionate house music aficionado, WhyBee was born into the vibrant musical landscape of Morocco and now calls Paris his home base. Drawing from a rich tapestry of Moroccan rhythms — such as those found in Gnawa and Dakka — he is also inspired by luminaries of classic African music, including Fela Kuti, Hugh Masekela, Manu Dibango, Tony Allen, and more. A true student of the dance floor, WhyBee travels the world to experience diverse club cultures, starting with New York and Chicago. As a DJ, he has developed a unique approach to blending different genres, channeling his emotions into his mixes. Having shared his love for music worldwide — performing in Seoul, Tokyo, New York, Rome, Lisbon, Barcelona, Rabat, and more, as well as in his hometown of Paris at the esteemed Djoon Club — WhyBee’s musical journey continues to thrive across the globe.

This mix is ​​a true reflection of WhyBee's personality, style and sensitivity when he gets behind the decks, a soulful journey into the deepest and most breathtaking music you´ll ever hear. We fell in love with it from the first listen. It has become our everyday soundtrack in the car, and we are very pleased to share it with you all.
