After relocating to New York, Joseph Richard spent the better part of a decade immersed in the cities rich record culture. Initially inspired by what other collectors were seeking out or playing at the time, he soon became completely consumed in the search to uncovering records that were still well off most peoples radar. Wanting an opportunity to share his finds with other enthusiasts, Joe started Good Sound record shop, a finely curated online store where you can find an abundance of goodies of which many will be unknown to your ears. This free flowing hour is a showcase of Joe’s new found interests in AOR, Folk and Soft Rock that have arisen since a recent move back to California. Let this one ease you into the warmer weather.

Next up in our Record Club Guest Mix series is Paul Hillery of the Folk Funk & Trippy Troubadour blog. Paul is a hugely respected collector of private press obscurities, lost loner folk, strange musical fauna and intricately played floral powered wonders. Known in collectors’ circles for his deep digging adventures and his immersive mix series on the Folk Funk & Trippy Troubadours blog (FFTT), Paul has gained a reputation as the go-to man for compilers and labels seeking information pretty much unavailable anywhere on the net. 

He recently released his FFTT compilation on the ever excellent RE:WARM records and it has become a firm favourite here at Mr Bongo HQ. To dig deeper into this rich seam of lost treasures and obscurities we asked if he would contribute a mix in our Record Club series. He’s a DJ / Selector of some pedigree, having played alongside The Polyphonic Spree, Arthur Lee & Love, Bonnie Dobson, Spiritualized, 4 Hero, Happy Mondays, Simian, The Bees, Julian Cope, Courtney Pine and many, many more. So, being the top gent he is, a sublime 2hr mix was promptly delivered and is now available for all to enjoy here.

This month I'm glad to host @missmoon for the second hour of the show with a mix from abstract break beat to futur jazz and house.  
Djing since the end of 1990's MissMoon was a real activist for electronic music in the south of france, inspired Detroit techno and Chicago house. She's also from my hometown and I've played one of my first gig with her back in the days so it's quite symbolic to have her in the show 🙃
i'm still amazed to discover that this part of france has known the golden age of rave parties and electronic music when i was a little baby - looks like I was definitely not born at the right time.

i've took care of the first part of the show with music from Jéroboam, @l-imperatrice, @smilingc, @ishkero, @backatcharecords @gintonicorchestra, @STR4TA, Renee Geyer 💜 and many others!
