Hey, cool that you take time to read this ;) ...Hope you're doing well! ...I'm not sure if I should feel sorry about the fact that I didn't  create a new relaxdaily tune for a few months or not. Time really flies. And I was actually pretty busy in the second half of 2013: I did two film trips to capture new video footage for this channel (you should be able to see some results later this year!). Also it took some time to re-master the relaxdaily tunes from the last 12 months to finally publish them on iTunes & Co (yes, I always find something to work on to make it sound even better for everyone who's so awesome and supports my work with a paid download!!). Plus, I'm such a dreamer and thinker! You could lock me for a month into an empty room (please with a notebook and a pen) and most likely there wouldn't be a minute of boredom. Instead I would make plans about the future, what I want to work on next, how I would do it, basically dreaming up a delicious future ;)
...But here's 2014. And after a quick Christmas Music intermezzo (my last creation – borrowing established melodies for the first time), I finally took a few days time to make N°074 happen. 
The video is pretty much all of the footage I collected in Tuscany last summer that has some sunset feel in it. I had a great time with two really great friends ;) of mine over there... (Italian pizza, red wine, “una birra grande per favore”, or “tre caffè per favore”, are helpful phrases to get through the day there ;) 
It was on that trip, when I learned that I need a new kind of glass (lens) for my video work: something with a more narrow angle, a lens which only captures a part of the scenery (I now have a Leica R 90mm – build in the 1970s - for that).
...What else... well I hope I can create more great tunes in 2014. Creating music feels to me like THE thing to master in my life, so hopefully I can focus on that this year.

A few thoughts on this one: 
The YouTube video (https://youtu.be/iljPOxZ6Vvg) is made of footage I could collect while visiting Sardinia, the Italian island, last September. I was lucky to get to that spot you can see in the first shot just on time to see the sun rising. While most people like to watch sunsets, and there is one at the end of the vid, too, it definitely is rewarding to watch the sun rising on the horizon. Makes you aware how slow, but steadily the ball we're standing on is spinning ;)

Born Out Of The Need For Longevity

The pandemic has picked up again somewhere in the globe, elsewhere a war rages, what next …  Caraka says, there was at time in history, when like in our present times, humanity was faced with a severe onslaught of disease, leaving the entire globe helpless. It was getting difficult to work in peace, to live a healthy way of life, to spend time in self-study, to remain energetic without getting distracted and dissipated, to do cleansing routines, and all of this started taking a toll on the healthy life-span of man. That is, the number of disease free years were reducing. This prompted the sages, the rsi, who were icons of both knowledge and compassion, and pathfinders for various communities across the globe, to come together and address this existential problem that humanity as a whole faced, for they could foresee grave calamities if this state remained unchecked. They met where they knew they would be inspired - at a spot on the slopes of the Himalaya to dwell in this problem and find solutions. They came with a comprehensive body of work that would not only offer solutions to mankind at this precarious juncture, but also provide a matrix for a ‘science of life’ that could evolve with the needs of humanity. It was from this grand once-in-an-eon coming together of sages, and the historic body of work that they created, that Caraka Samhita is said to have materialised.
