Over the course of the past five years, Amsterdam based label Indigo Aera has evolved in to one of the most trustworthy and respected contemporary Detroit techno labels around.

In October 2016, @IndigoAera embarks on their biggest release to date: a limited edition 5 LP box-set. The Lost Archives Special consists of unreleased tracks from absolute legends, to music that has never been released in a physical form before, to fresh compositions of techno’s most talented contemporary artists. This is the premiere of 500 Models (demo mix) by Joris Voorn.

"I made this track on an MPC and Juno 106 in 2001. It was recorded in one live take in my student room in Rotterdam. It never got released as I wasn’t sure about the track, but it was picked up by Indigo Aera years later when I put an mp3 on my website.’’

Aus Music follow up a string of new signings with the return of 2 of the long-standing staples - label owner Will Saul and long term affiliate Komon. The duo most recently collaborated on a 12” for Kompakt now together they ready the ‘Eve's Seven’ EP - a deep and dreamy 3-track EP that comes with a remix from recent signing Recloose.

Bloom sets arresting riffs circling through rich textures that thicken and thin to startling effect. ‘Eve’s Seven’ follows up with dusty drum samples and bold melodies before the Brooklyn native does what he does best in offering up a typically sunny take on Komon & Will Saul’s ‘Eve's Seven’. Sweeping filters and a short, driving bass line propel a highly energetic but playful rework primed for brimful dancefloors.

Celebrating 10 years of music, Steve Lawler’s imprint VIVa MUSiC assembles a legion of top quality artists for a three part release. Featured on this first part it’s Robsoul founder Phil Weeks with a jam titled ‘’ Come On Baby’’. The French Producer and DJ collides funky drums and an intoxicating female vocal, with the addition of a subtle jazz touch. Intec is known to many a fan of House and Techno as a scene leading label set up by the iconic Carl Cox who has been at the forefront of DJ culture since the early 90’s.

With a roster of artists including the label boss himself plus Nicole Moudaber, Jon Rundell, Marco Bailey, Carlo Lio, Cristian Varela and Dosem amongst many others of a similar calibre.

Intec welcomes back Irish born Ian O'Donovan who has featured music on labels including Drumcode, Bedrock, Connaisseur, Tronic, KMS and Planet E. Making his second release on the label, Ian who is known for his inventive and individual production style presents four original tracks on this solo release.

First up is the tribal groove of “Seeker” which fuses fast flowing percussion with a rolling bass line to create in infectious groove. Already full of energy, the frantic lead synth helps create a sense of urgency that’s instantly captivating and perfect for the dancefloor. Peak time Techno at its best this track should also appeal to fans of House who are looking for something with a little extra bite.

The second track titled "Curium" is led by the pulsating bass line and busy clap rhythm that intertwine with the rattling congas and rising chords. Get ready to put your head down and punch the air with excitement, as this potent slice of Techno will have you out of your seat and dancing round the room.

Third on the release is the deep pads and pitched toms of “99” that despite being the most laid back track on the release still packs a punch. Simple in structure, it’s a fine example of less being more, and the dramatic melody which builds into a held chord adds an extra layer of tension. Master crafted with just a touch of chic, this is Techno at its most classy.

Finishing off the release title track called “Tomahawk”. Arguably saving the best till last, its muffled chords contrast gritty textures with the overlaying glide of the lead synth. Getting more complex as it develops, the tracks epic structure has a slightly cosmic vibe, soon brought back to earth by the hard hitting and heavy percussion, which combined can only be described as peak time Techno with an emotional edge.

Its been a busy year for Mark Fanciulli. A hectic and ever increasing tour schedule, a new radio show and the launch of his own label - Between 2 Points - has seen the Maidstone man working harder than ever. Some of that work, we’re happy to say, has been in the studio. A second EP for Carl Craig’s Planet E plus a double drop on his own new platform have kept us Fanciulli fans well fed. Now he returns to where it all began, with a brand new release for Rejected.

"Its really great to be back on Rejected, the label on which I released my breakthrough track “The Tide” back in 2011. The “In The Zone” EP features two new tracks that I’m really proud of, “Out Of Control” and “Impact”. Both feature a lot of the sounds from The Korg MS-20 synth which i’ve used on some of my other recent productions. I really like its raw, pulsating and gritty patches, which are always fun to manipulate.”

That manipulation has seen him craft an impressive brace lead by the bombastic beats and climbing synth of ‘Out Of Control’. On the flip, whilst ‘Impact’ winds things down, its piercing chords make an impression that won’t soon be forgotten. An impressive outing once again from Mr. Fanciulli.

Montenegro native Ilona Maras returns to Get Physical once again as ‚Existe‘ gets plucked from Full Body Workout Vol. 18 for the remix treatment. Produced in collaboration with Sanja and featuring the silky smooth vocals of Jesus Gutierrez, AKA Sutja Gutierrez; the original mix features a beautifully organic groove supported by warm pumping dub chords as the vocal cuts dance on top of the piece. Dusty crescendos bring a certain energy to the mix, adding a gritty elegance. Our boy Bryan Kessler takes on the remix, giving the track a dirty, stuttering bassline and with it, a burst of energy, turning the track into a main time killer. Together these tracks cover a broad spectrum of situations, from warm up to after hour, Ilona, Sanja, Sutja and Bryan have your back.

As Dirtybird originated in San Francisco, we were pretty spoiled music-wise. The city was filled with world class DJ's that you could see in a 2000 person club on the weekend, or after work on a Tuesday at a taco restaurant. There was a litany of quality music that rolled in week in and week out from all over the world that had a sound that perfectly set the unique vibe of SF.

There were so many great records during these golden years that often times a brilliant track would get a brief stint of fame here on the dancefloors and bars, only to disappear and get replaced the following week when the next round of records arrived at the shops.

“Is That My Wig?” & “Cha For Che” from Asadihno are two examples of tracks that take us back to those years where tech, deep and soul didn't mean a thing and everyone danced under one roof.

Initially released in 2008 under his original artist name Asad Rizvi, “Is That My Wig?” has been re-discovered by Claude VonStroke and freshly packaged with the previously unreleased “Cha for Che” on our Dirtybird Select label.
