Following a fallow 2020, Marginal Returns is proud to present the solo debut of Berlin-based, Sardinian-born Enrica Falqui (who has previous releases as half of techno project Eris and half of experimental project Yhdessa).

Plexus splits the difference between Falqui's ambient and dance floor modes. Side A opener ‘Veda’ is a hopeful downbeat dawning, A2 ‘Mond’ a Burger/Ink reminiscent slice of Pop Ambient and side closer ’What She Got Right’ songful and contemplative. Side B is darker, faster, and for the night, containing the EBM-tinged stomp of ‘Plexus’ and afters-electro glide of ‘Aquarius’.

Ever since his life brought him to Vietnam, Sen10za understood that he needed to orient his life around music.
Growing among the Hanoian dance music community surely awakens his curiosity towards
music, as he evolves. After a few years of sharpening his skills and approach and experiencing stages transformed cu-
riosity into obsession. He traveled around many genres to slowly discover the music that fit his personality
the most.
Whether it is shinny balearic atmospheres, trippy acid distortions or dreamy melodies, his music sweats boun-
cing grooves. He is a true lover of warm basslines with energized and vibrant rhythms. Delicately arranging the
pace of the overall set to fit the time he is playing at, his mixing approach also matured along the years. Today
it is focusing on more intricate mixing, leaving more interactions between tracks.
He is also a member of Fauve and the collective Studio Adventure as well as resident of Hanoi’s Mirage Club.

Friend


Friend is the DJ project of Dominic Irla (age 33) from Cape Town, South Africa, where he spent his early years as a dedicated promoter and music journalist in the thriving festival circuit (founder of Psymedia in 2010).
In 2018, a friend travelled to Southeast Asia and established himself as a formidable DJ and promoter in Hanoi, Vietnam, for 3+ years. From sandy beaches down south and mystical caves up north, reputable promoters by the likes of Savage, Studio Adventure Collective, Defused Mood, Electric Bazaar, Equation, VibeNation, and We Groove; Friend played at many clubs, festivals, and tropical jungle raves across the country.
In 2020, Friend co-founded the Vietnam-based record label Magic Box Engine; pushing out eclectic releases, guest mixes, events, and art. The label also became known for their conceptual “This is” events and wild MBE after-parties in unique locations within the underground music scene of Hanoi. 
By the end of 2021 friend marked the end of his chapter in Vietnam and returned to Cape Town as an independent DJ. Since his resurgence on home soil - he's been featured regularly on lineups at the mighty Mødular precinct; namely Destination Saturn, Killer Robot, Revival, and the SBCLTR Collective.
Notable festival gigs in South Africa so far include Origin Festival, Into the Wild, Organik Love Project, Tribal Groove, H20 NYE, Bazique Festival, AfrikaBurn, Psymedia Under the African Sky, With You’s Rumours by the Lake, Mantra Music Festival, and Alien Safari x Vortex Little Forest NYE.
Whether it’s downtempo, house, minimal, techno, electro, or breakbeat - Friend is a true digger who’s never afraid to switch up the tempo or genre. Heavily inspired by his nomadic travels in Southeast Asia, Latin America and Europe; he taps into a sonic world without borders and delivers obscure yet tasteful mixes for any time of day or night. His signature sounds are often riddled with groovy basslines, acid frequencies, hypnotic atmospheres, and psychedelic undertones.

Crafted in 2022, New Delhi based Bhavya Singh’s shadow identity, Fringe Mechanics, is a genre-agnostic yet contextually appropriate effort to explore and platform sounds that exist at the fringes. With a soft spot for deep grooves, emotive and eccentric samples, punchy rhythms, and vertigo-inducing textures, he aims to create dance floor experiences that are surreal. Starting with a passion for creating mixtapes and playlists since his teenage years, his sonic palette as a selector incorporates and prioritises genres such as Chicago House, 90s Dubs, Electro, and Breaks, as well as Hip House, R&B, Jazz, Funk, and Balearic soundscapes.

WYONISE - MIX VOLUME 1 (4.20.24)

In the last few years of my musical journey, I have been searching for the meaning of music in terms of the emotions and feelings it evokes. The infinite possibilities of sound design have led me to a point where I enjoy creating long patterns that express my inner peace and joy through sound. Everything brings me happiness and frees my mind from thoughts, allowing me to stay in places without judgment or barriers. This is who I am today, and I am happy to have reached a level of consciousness and authenticity with music. Here is one of the recordings I recently made, which was completely constructed using a modular system called VCV Rack. I built my own system using simple VCOs, VCFs, LFOs, and sequencing notes, while also adding effects like delay, reverb, and distortion to push the sound to its limits. It has been a long journey, as long as the one I have lived up until today, and it is just the beginning of my deep exploration.

With over a decade of experience, a vinyl aficionado and music lover - Dusan effortlessly moves the boundaries of genres, trying to find the right balance between energetic grooves and hypnotic melodies while always tuning into the crowd’s flow. 
As one of the founders of Atipik collective and resident of the infamous Club Tunnel in Novi Sad (Serbia), he has proved to be a valuable pillar of the new underground scene in SE Asia, inspiring many new talents with his intricate selection and adaptability to different spaces. DBT is a relatively fresh electronic music brand, established in 2019 and rooted in the vibrant scenes of Glasgow and Edinburgh. Dedicated to curating the finest in underground electronic music, DBT showcases a diverse range of genres including stripped back house and techno, micro house, minimal techno, garage, breaks, acid, and all sorts in between.
Rapidly earning a reputation for introducing audiences to emerging electronic artists, consistently debuting fresh talent both locally and nationally and drawing inspiration from renowned events like Off Sonar, Houghton, Sunwaves, Gottwood, and ADE.
DBT has also pushed boundaries by taking its immersive experiences to unconventional spaces such as islands, waterfalls, and reservoirs - creating unique atmospheres for music lovers to connect.

ISO_EXO Join us for a sonic journey of deep hypnotic groove from his first Asian tour, from London, ISO_EXO. Will combine a vivid set of his most recent inspiration, more slower and deeper than normal, to represent his time off between gigs and dedicating more effort to constructing a hypnotic structure.
ISO_EXO mostly performs live sets based on modular synthesis and field recording, with a much more advanced and deep sound architecture influenced by psychedelic driving grooves and tribal music. As part of his new job, he conducts research on quantum acoustics and contemporary sound. ISO_EXO's live set is largely based on improvisational performance.

Blană is a Danish born artist based in the mists of Melbourne. Passionately sharing deep minimal journeys straight from the heart while opening new channels of consciousness for those who listen. Heavily inspired by her adventures throughout Romania and Vietnam, she sets the mood with dynamic basslines, enchanting rhythms, and spellbinding snares.
In Melbourne, Blană has made her mark as the founder of Dj Social Club, hosting inclusive open deck nights at Radio Bar as well as co-curating the experimental minimal event series: Subterrania. She is a faithful resident at Killing Time Bar, playing on Fridays with Hindsight Music for OVER.
