Originally written as a solo song, Grayson demo'd it with his friend singer Polly Messer in 1990. Seventeen years late, Polly, now engaged to and co-producing AN AMERICAN RECORD with Grayson, brought out the cassette tape of the demo'd song as a duet. And here it is: a soulful duet about never giving up on your dreams. And true love is something to be protected and treasured. "Forever Yours, Forever Mine" is a song from Grayson Hugh's 1992 MCA album "Road To Freedom". It describes two people stuck in a relationship that seems unable to end nor continue. Grayson Hugh says: "The couple sits at a cafe table outdoors on a street in Berkeley, California. The woman is reading a poem the man has given her. As a tear falls from her eye, the man realizes how paralyzed they are. He has done everything he could to bring her close, yet she seems to suffer from some secret curse that prevents her from being happy. They are lovers, yet their love remains aloof. Though they have shared their souls, nothing can bring them peace. Even the moon of Mendocino, shining so peacefully on the sea, could not ease their heartache. There is no cure for them and he knows he must will himself to leave, in order break the spell of being trapped in time."
