To honour the 100th release on Stay True Sounds, we asked SA's leading deep-house player, China Charmeleon to choose 13 songs from our catalogue to remix!
China has fast become a favourite in the South African deep house scene with his non-stop work ethic (releasing 2 full albums and 2 Ep's in 2020), consequently promoting the rise of his brand.
China crafted his trade from a young age being raised in a church and his father allowing him to explore the keyboard.
China took the last six months remixing these Stay True Sounds classics and making them his own, as he would.

Cody Currie is back with a new song on Toy Tonics. The London born, Berlin based keyboarder, producer, singer, DJ and man of great style is a lead artist of the German label by now. The 22-year-old has released a few EPs that made him one of the probably most talked about newcomers in the new soulful house scene. "The Tom Misch of jazzy house" they called him, and maybe that description could fit. He plays most instruments himself, never uses samples, and the atmospheres he creates are unique.

For his new song, he teamed up one more time with Eliza Rose. The London vocalist, DJ, producer and radio host already was featured on Cody Currie’s last single "Moves". After a couple of well received gigs they did together, jamming live on stage, they decided to do another song. And here it is: Eliza’s sweet voice correspends perfectly with Cody’s chords and warm rolling grooves. The Rhodes piano riff and that funky bassline stay in your head after just one time listening. The two London souls fit so well together. And both are just at the beginning of their carrier. Eliza Rose is going to release her solo debut EP in Spring 2022 and Cody has an album coming up in Winter 2022.

The year is 2014 a music crazed astronaut is about to be sent on a mission to space. The mission allows for him to take along only one item, he takes his beloved jukebox. One day, whilst madly dancing to a groove, he forgets to tie his beloved jukebox unto a pole and his beloved jukebox floats into space. Determined to reunite with his beloved jukebox the astronaut goes on a search. 

Float along in space following sound vibrations of SoulParlor coming from the ‘misplaced jukebox’.

As a follow up of releases on labels such as; Tokyo Dawn Records and Raw Fusion, SoulParlor have compiled a six-track EP called 'Misplaced Jukebox' the 18th release of INI Movement’s journey into sounds. A velocity of vibes and breaks from brokenbeat and soulful house that will make you boogie for sure.

After making waves a few years back via his Potatohead People project (with AstroLogical) and co-producing Illa J’s critically acclaimed self titled LP, Vancouver based playboy & producer Nick Wisdom steps out from behind the boards to deliver his first solo release for Bastard Jazz. 

The “Intimate Strangers” EP mines deep into Nick’s proclivities for disco, hip-hop, and house flavours. “Good Times” kicks things off with a snapping four on the floor, deep Rhodes chords and a rollicking bassline and vocals courtesy of Mr. Wisdom himself. “Feelin’ Alright” heads into outerspace disco territory with cosmic synths, walking bass, and sultry vocals courtesy of Reva Devito (HW&W, Kaytranada). On the flipside “Don’t Tell” brings in some 80s boogie vibes with downlow vocals from San Francisco’s K-Maxx, while “Rock The Cash Bar” is an instrumental party rocking hip-hop jam sounding like a modern day Showbiz & AG.

It's already the third episode of the Perspectives serie served with love by DAIRMOUNT who prepared with lots of care the fattest compilation of his young imprint with nothing less than 8 high standard tracks, all exclusive to this release.

The unstoppable MOTOR CITY DRUM ENSEMBLE, who is currently topping both vinyl & digital charts with his latest Raw Cuts & his remixes of Dj T & Steve Bug, graced us with a beautiful moody number with a distinctive MCDE pedigree. Our old friend SASSE will release a full EP with us in 2010 and we couldn't wait to present you Lake Michigan, an inspired little "clin d'oeil" to Detroit godfathers, part of his forthcoming EP.

HONESTY retweaked SYGAIRE's classic The Time Is Now to give it a late night dubbiness touch of the best order while Ludovic Llorca offers one of his ART OF TONES solid builder with Philterism, a track heavily played by Dairmount since he fell in love with it...

Static Off (Dust Away) marks another moment of studio experimentation for the mighty duo DAIRMOUNT and MARINO BERARDI who seem to take unexpected ways track after track. After the acclaimed Omni on Perspectives 02, this is another slice of hybrid House music.

ANDRÉ LODEMANN, one of Berlin's hot shots of 2009, fresh from his massive Vehemence Of Silence EP on our label, signed another serious Deep House number called Gentle Doubt that will satisfy his numerous new fans.

Round The Block is another Dairmount's discovery courtesy of the respected WERNER NIEDERMEIER who produced remarkable stuff this year on Supplement Facts & Phonica (as JC Freaks). Pure boompty bump for your pleasure!

And finally, JOEL ALTER, one of our favorite Swedish producers, dropped Control, a druggy nugget announcing his flamboyant Omerta EP due in November this year.
