UMJITA is a slang used for the word the "DUDE" eKASI (UMJITA wase KASI. This slang is mostly used in the townships all over South Africa. Umjita is also a clothing brand of our directors Dr Disi & Liso The Musician which was established in 2013. The company sells township inspired gear and the song is dedicated to the dude from eKasi (Amapansula, impintshi, ingwazi, ingqwela, inqophla, iOuty, iTsotsi) and also the song fights woman abuse by readdressing what UMJITA was suppose to do eKasi and how UMJITA should should represent himself.

Umjita unoLine, Umjita uyamamela.

Many guys got this slang wrong and wanna prove ubuJITA babo by abusing and dehumanizing women and other people.

UMJITA by Dr Disi ft Liso The Musician

Umjita Clothing Brand & Music is an independent production company based in South Africa that is largely known for developing the youth in Music, Theatre & Entrepreneurship. 

This album titled "Mentor Me Women In Music 1st Edition" was recorded during a 3 days workshop conceptualized by the company with it's music facilitator Liso The Musician. Mentor Me Wome In Music mentoring programme was held in Johannesburg where the company invites 4 mentors and 4 mentees coming from 4 different provinces to compose, write and record 8 songs in 4 different languages.

Mentors are: Thembi Mona (EC), Nomathemba Magobodi (FS), Katie Beard (WC) & Kgomotso Tsoness Matjele (GP)

Mentees are: Aphiwe Geja (EC), Nyakallo Seisa (FS), Lolitha Kwayi (WC) & Ntombi Kubeka (GP).

During the project we had a mobile studio in a Villa in Joburg to record the music and a television pitch show. 

The project was supported by the National Arts Council, Umjita Clothing Brand, Dr Disi & Liso The Musician
