Delicious Moments

Small robots for children were placed under the Christmas tree. Now it is the robots that rule us. The Christmas tree is already electric in many places!

This track is my spontaneous improvised piano soundtrack to a 17 minute video of the earth viewed from the International Space Station. The footage starts in the mid Atlantic and ends over the Italian Alps.

NASA make available the imagery that the astronauts aboard the ISS shoot and one of their favourite things is creating timelapse sequences. Being timelapse the earth flies by about 20 times faster than real time which although spectacular is not particularly relaxing. I noticed that videos were available on youtube which were beautifully smooth and playing at near real time derived from these sequences using software incorporating AI motion extrapolation to slow down the original timelapse sequences. I decided to have a go at this myself and after a bit of experimentation the video sequence with the accompanying soundtrack linked above is the result.

This is originally a protest song against bad management ...by serendipity the ideas developped in this song echoed with   a 80's cult song from Axel Bauer, a french artist i've been reverring from a long time, and whose father had been drumming for Django Reinhardt and doing other incredible things  ... feels like music  is a small wonderful world...

Bonfire Night or Guy Fawkes' Night takes place on November 5th each year in Great Britain with bonfires and firework displays. It recalls the Gunpowder Plot of 1605; an attempt to blow up the Houses of Parliament. Guy Fawkes was captured before he could light the fuse to 36 barrels of gunpowder. Back in the day, children would make a scarecrow-like effigy of Guy Fawkes to be thrown on the communal bonfire during the 'celebrations'. In the run up to the evening they would ask for "a penny for the guy" to spend on sparklers, sweets or other treats.

We must remember every November, we must remember the fifth of November,

With Mr Guy Fawkes evil intentions, he certainly got all of our attention,

This started off as an exercise in utilising all five fingers when playing right hand patterns on the keyboard. I devised a pattern with a simple bass progression and have been developing it over nearly two months of repetition and embellishment. The overall end result comes out somewhat differently every time I play it, but I thought todays version finally felt worthy of sharing with a wider audience. Thankyou for taking time out to listen.

At home producer of electronic tracks in varying styles - I really enjoy experimenting with melding different genres. 
Been writing songs since the mid 70's whilst playing bass & drums in various bands (the first one was a punk band) and digitally writing since 2006. Retired now, so much more time for having fun with music :) It's just a hobby for me these days; Soundcloud is just a great place to share music & connect with people who have the same interests.
