Terry Da Libra Biography  

Birth and Teenage Years (1980-1999)

This is the short biography of Greek electronic music producer Lefteris Pimenidis aka Terry Da Libra. Born in Herten – Germany, he his parents along with his brother, returned to Greece in September 1980 after their first 2 years of marriage. At that time, Terry showed an excellent accent of German language & his love for music by singing his very first pop song & showcasing his dance moves, which were based on German pop artists Trio - Da Da Da and everyone was amazed at Terry's interaction at such a young age.

Slowly during his first teenage years, his family noticed that he started to show interest towards piano and synthetic sounds. From the very first moment when his uncle bought him a Casio synthesizer for his birthday, Terry began to gain influence from artists such as Vangelis, Jean Michel Jarre, Yanni, Stamatis Spanoudakis, Basil Poledouris and many others. 

Later on, Terry, as much as he was spending time by listening to music on Radio, TV, he also started capturing random taps of piano chords and synths by different artists and music producers. As a result he would try to re-create the whole base of a song in to his own version. Fortunately for his listening experience, there was a vinyl store at the last level of the building where Terry was living and he always held the money his mother gave him  in order to buy records mostly from the 90’s & single hits from: The Prodigy, U96, Jam & Spoon, Dr. Ramirez, Age Of Love, Quench, KLF, Everything But The Girl and Enigma. His influences grew further when he started to listen to electronic music, rock bands, classical music, jazz and movie soundtracks. This would lead to Terry showcasing his knowledge of melodies to people, who promptly asked him if he had professional music training. As a result the time for Terry to begin his lessons in a music school had begun, however this ended within two months as his piano tutor had to leave owing to personal reasons. He was advised though that he should read the Autorgan lesson book & buy a new workstation synthesizer. 

As his feelings grew more & more each time with music, he became a rock band member based on progressive rock by listening to a lot of Dream Theater & Melodic Metal whilst not forgetting his love for electronic music. In the early 90’s , Terry made his first contact with the Roland Groove Box 303 which a friend had in his possession. He instantly showed a big interest & together they explored the world of electronic sounds that the synth provided with its technology. Both made European psychedelic trance tracks & they organized parties with LIVE ACT. These were very successful and later they succeeded in releasing their first three tracks on a Greek magazine related to European psychedelic trance music & EDM.
 However, Terry had to take a break from music as in May 1999 he joined the Army for 18 whole months & taking him away from his family, beloved ones & his music creativity. 

The Night Life (2000 - 2003)

Once Terry was dismissed from the Greek forces at the end of the year 2000, he immediately began to resume his normal life. Terry was approached at the end 2001 & asked if he would like to be a part of a musical project once more. The project was Terry's chance to collaborate with the resident DJ of his local club, adding his own effects and synth sounds from a Roland 505 and a Boss sampling workstation for 30 minutes to give a more "live-sounding" variation to the tracks while the DJ played the tracks. Terry worked alongside the percussionist to deliver a unique character, receiving good feedback as a result. 

These nights changed Terry’s way of life and made him think with a large amount of excitement regarding the idea of becoming a DJ. He learnt the basics, techniques & started to play his music in the local bars at the age of 21. He focused on getting the best underground electronic music from Global Underground, Ministry of Sound and Renaissance amongst others. 

He managed to spin his first music in a bar in 2001 & listeners gave Terry good praise in his musical tastes. Many remarked as to how underground his style was, showing a uniquely non-commercial style of DJ'ing not present at the time. Additionally, Terry’s interests turned to soulful house, realising that this was a great genre to explore.
  
Terry started to build his name, and in time he was mixing genres together & using the underground sound for a more peak time hour. It was in this way that he accomplished the starting of a following, with many people appreciating his musical style and selection.
Word quickly spread of Terry’s mixing capabilities & music, and by working three jobs in the summer of 2003 he was able to afford a Roland Groove Box 909. 

The Night Club. (2003 - 2007)

As a result of Terry's success he was called to meet the owners of a nightclub in the summer of 2003, eventually winning the crowd and getting accepted to DJ several nights a week. 
By the end of the summer, he been asked if he would like to become the resident DJ at the start of the summer 2004. Terry promptly seized the opportunity with both hands. He gained valuable experience of the industry by doing so, and this helped him to mould his overall style. He continued with this for four years with this collaboration and learned a great deal. At the start of 2007 he resigned, but Terry continued to work in night bars, until his official work of the modern day. 


Becoming a producer , labels, professional recognition & international support (2009 -2013)


2009 arrived and Terry decided to buy a PC for the specifications of handling modern music technology, getting experience with the capabilities of a DAW and learning how virtual synthesizers work.  Due to his previous involvement with Roland Grooveboxes, VST's were easy for him to handle. FL Studio was the first DAW that Terry used to make his music for before making a switch to Ableton Live several months later.  

Having read about techniques on the internet, Terry spent many hours learning his craft on the software before publishing his music on social media sites such as MySpace and Facebook. He began to receive very positive feedback, with people remarking that he would breakthrough as an electronic music producer. Terry's patience was rewarded with many music deals on record labels such as Enhanced Music, Silk Music and Black Hole Recordings. His tracks have been featured on compilations such as In Search of Sunrise 10 and the Silk Royal Showcase collections. Terry has also received support from Armin van Buuren on A State of Trance and Above & Beyond on Trance Around The World, where his remix of "Positiva - Jamrock" was the Web Vote Winner. His music has also been supported by BT, Paul van Dyk, Markus Schulz,Cosmic Gate, Omnia Myon & Shane 54, Max Graham, Judge Jules, Bobina, Ben Gold, tyDi, M.I.K.E., Tritonal, Roger Shah, Will Holland, Richard Durand, Ronski Speed, Maor Levi, Jaytech, Ben Nicky, Andy Duguid, Alex O'Rion , 7 Skies, Answer42, Dinka, Ruben De Ronde & many more!

2014,Leuteris Pimenidis, more commonly known as Terry da Libra is without a doubt, one of Greece’s hidden treasures. Melody and harmony are both words that spring to mind from Terry's music. He continues to make emotive and melodic progressive Trance, gaining further support all the time.

Eve 6 weren’t even legal drinking age when they were presented with their first platinum record. Thus, life came hard and fast at the members of SoCal pop-punk trio, whose meteoric success in the late ‘90s and early millennium ingrained their anthemic radio hits into the fabric of the lives of a whole generation. Then, it all sort of ended…until now.
 
Reunited and re-energized, the band is returning with new album Speak In Code eight years after parting ways in 2004.  As the fourth full-length release for Eve 6 and their debut on new label Fearless Records, the album heralds not just a return to form for the threesome, but a new chapter in a book that had ended all too abruptly.
 
“Overall I'm really proud of it, and I think we're doing right by our fans, who’ve waited a long time for us to make another record. I think we're giving them something they'll enjoy,” says singer/bassist Max Collins. “Once we got in the studio there was a lot of energy. There aren't any filler moments; each song has its purpose. This is the strongest collection of songs we've ever had on one record.”
 
Eve 6—which also includes drummer Tony Fagenson and guitarist John Siebels—formed in Southern California in 1995 while the trio were just teenagers, then inked a deal with RCA Records before they’d finished high school. The band issued the self-titled Eve 6 in 1998, attaining platinum success with hit singles “Inside Out” and “Leech,” the former capturing the #1 spot on the Modern Rock charts and crossing over successfully to Top 40 radio. More widespread recognition came with gold-selling sophomore effort Horrorscope (2000), which spawned radio gems “Promise,” “On The Roof Again” and the ubiquitous prom and MTV anthem “Here’s To The Night”.
 
It seemed like Eve 6 were everywhere—the band made appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Late Show with David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Late Night With Conan O’Brien, and TRL with Carson Daly, with their videos in constant rotation on MTV. The band then released the more experimental It’s All In Your Head in 2003, featuring singles “Think Twice” and “At Least We’re Dreaming,” but parted ways with RCA thereafter. Their rapid rise to prominence at an early age had led to an inevitable mental and physical exhaustion, and in 2004 Eve 6 announced an indefinite hiatus. It was time to turn a new page.
 
“There were parts which were fucking incredible, and amazing and awesome, and there were aspects that were terrifying and freaky that you don't know how to handle. I feel like we did some growing up in public,” says Collins. “I needed to stop drinking. In order to do that, the wheels had to come off. I don't think I could have done it if the band was still going.”
 
After a year apart, Collins and Fagenson began writing and producing for other artists, including 2007’s hit ballad “We Don’t Have To Look Back Now” for rock band Puddle of Mudd, and collaborating on a new experimental side project, the Sugi Tap. "It was an inspiring time, going down different musical avenues together and trying things we wouldn't have in Eve 6,” reflects Fagenson. “Ironically, when we did reform Eve 6 a couple years later, those experiments allowed us to progress the sound of the band more freely than if we had been in the band the whole time."
 
Collins and Fagenson eventually reignited Eve 6 in 2008, with guitarist Matt Bair temporarily replacing Siebels who was occupied with his project Monsters Are Waiting. The band spent the next two-plus years touring, writing and reconnecting with fans, then in 2011, armed with new material and management, signed with Fearless Records. A month within inking the deal Collins and Fagenson finally convinced Siebels to return to the fold.
 
“After going down some different paths it hit me that there was this thing out there that people wanted and wanted to hear,” explains Siebels. “It just clicked and made sense to me.  After such a long break I was so happy to be playing with these guys again.”  Continues Fagenson, "The way [Siebels] hits the strings and puts that muscle into the chords is very distinctive to our band, and that was a welcome piece of the sound that we had missed.  Songs that had been kicking around for a couple years got new life with his playing put into them.” 
 
Eve 6 then re-enlisted Don Gilmore (Linkin Park, Dashboard Confessional, Good Charlotte, Pearl Jam)—who produced the first two Eve 6 full-lengths—to helm the sessions for Speak In Code. With all the lead time, the album contains a mix of compositions that began as far back as the side project, as well as recent works written in the months leading up to the recording process.  “We were really taking a ‘best of everything’ sort of approach, almost like a band's first album, in which there's a lot of material to choose from,” Fagenson notes. “About half the songs were standouts from what Max and I had been working on and demoing over the years, and the other half were newer ideas that came with the inspiration of Jon's return and all that was happening to us at the time.  We have a unique process, where each song is sort of its own animal. Don was crucial in helping us tighten everything up, and inspiring Max to dig really deep lyrically and get to some root emotion down there.”  Explains Collins, “Neil Finn [of Crowded House] once said, ‘A great producer is someone whom you admire musically and otherwise, who you feel compelled to show up and show off for.’ I feel like Don is that figure for me and the band.”
 
In many ways, 'Speak In Code' is a work with deep personal significance for Collins, who has weathered his share of personal adversity. The album is a testament to coming out okay on the other side, with friendships still intact, but it’s within the journey that the story truly lies. Whether it’s romantic relationships or dealings with his bandmates, communication—and its barriers—is a central theme underpinning the release.
 
“In some of the songs frustration is a theme. I was sort of looking at difficult personal relationships with a humorous spin in some places, and with more earnestness in others,” explains Collins. “The title [Speak In Code] is a lyric from ‘Curtain,’ and there was something kind of evocative about it. In that song, I'm referring to being newly sober and just feeling like an open nerve, feeling freaked out, having people and life being sort of overwhelming. It's almost like people are speaking a language you don't understand.”
 
Opening track “Curtain” is a pivotal moment for several reasons—not only does it provide a title concept, but it also speaks to the group’s return from hiatus, drawing on the relations between the notoriously volatile Gallagher brothers from Britpop icons Oasis. “There was a lot that I could identify with there,” Collins says. “Being in a band is like a marriage; it's like a family. You're in the trenches with these guys, and sometimes it's easy and awesome, and sometimes it's not so easy.”
 
First single “Victoria” lyrically weaves a tale that draws the listener into a hook-laden, 80‘s-influenced anthem, putting a contemporary spin on the classic Eve 6 sound. “[‘Victoria’] indulges this paranoid what-if fantasy that kind of has a foot in the truth: My wife went on this girls’ vacation to Mexico, and when I was looking through the photos, I saw my imagination start to go, and wrote that song,” Collins recalls. “I'm convinced in my mind that something’s going on that really isn't.”
 
Far from being just some nefarious nostalgia cash-in, 'Speak In Code' is a genuine example of triumphing over one’s obstacles, both professionally and personally, seven years in the making. Eve 6 say the time rebuilding was essential to regaining their footing, which seems more solid in 2012 than ever. "In a lot of ways, the years leading up to this album release was a bit of a ‘paying our dues’ situation. We certainly had to earn the right to have this opportunity again,” says Fagenson. “This time around I think we realized just how hard it is to really get a rock band going and just when you think you're near the finish line you realize there's another hundred miles to go. But all that work and time simply strengthened our belief in what we were doing, and it was a crucial aspect of our development. It really taught us about stick-with-it-ness and perseverance."
 
"The time we spent apart really made us appreciate what we have in each other. It's a chemistry you can't manufacture,” adds Collins. “We literally grew up playing music together. The bond that we have as a result of so much shared experience infuses the sound of the band."
 
With 'Speak In Code' slated for an April 24th release, the band is gearing up for their much-awaited reintroduction to fans. Now part of the Fearless Records family, it’s a guarantee Eve 6’s music will reach a wide, eager audience of potential devotees, and a full slate of touring behind the release is slated for 2012. Diehards who caught the band live in prior years will undoubtedly be thrilled to see the trio once again on stage, but it will be a somewhat older, definitely wiser group that greets them. According to Collins, it’s all good.
 
“We’re looking forward to playing new songs, and reconnecting to the fans with new material,” says Collins. “I feel this profound gratitude to the other two guys in my band. We've been through a lot—we've had the mountaintop moments and the Death Valley moments—and we're still here today, we all get along, and we made this thing together. It's almost miraculous, to me. There's this convergence that goes on for something that's bigger than the sum of its parts, and that's such a joyful, cool fucking thing.”

Two Face beginning years are what most call “a rough start”. Without a Father and a mother who was never around and a half brother who only made life even harder.. Two Face was born in Newark NJ in 88’ and then moved to Virginia at a young age, but kept his Yankee heart despite the transition. He loved easy money and the fast life as these are the survival skills taught by the streets. He began rapping to better himself by getting the hurt and pain off his mind, the stuff he could not handle himself and vented it through his song and art.

Dr Rub (born Joseph Ruben) is a talented Haitian DJ and Electronic Dance Music (EDM) Producer specially trance, techno and house. he has built a good reputation in his native country in this environment and has become one of the most requested DJs for private parties (wedding, birthdays, oldskool party, dinner, happy hour, children and adult parties etc …) although quite rare on public signs. Although specialized in playing DANCE MUSIC, he had a large diversity of genre in his playlist such: Blues, Jazz, country, Rnb, Disco, Soul…Etc. His reputation is granted thanks to his remarkable talent in mixing tracks and refined taste in choosing songs. his dJ career and music producer began in 2005 after listening to two old acquaintances on the courtyard of the university discussing a software with which we could make music like techno arrangement easily. he quickly threw in search of this software which awakened in him a sudden curiosity. Convinced to be born talented because of his ability to handle any instrument (guitar, piano, flute ...) that he touches for the first time, and the discovery of his self-taught faculties in learning, he devotes himself to use in full all the musical talent he has in him and pursue his precious dreams to reach his goal in life. He began to create a Techno song (STRING GAME) during his solo learning that he later published on his Myspace page in 2006 and on www.youtube.com/rubhaiti. he published in 2007 a remix of the song by Robert Miles (Children), and also FLY ROBIN FLY by SILVER CONVENTION with a session techno and trance mix music on a CD and distributed it strictly to friends. he collaborated with young and talented artists in several musical projects on their albums or singles. he began his experiences on the radio in 2008 when being invited by two friends who held a show every Sunday (FREE SUNDAY on Radio One 90.1) on the best party station at the moment. he was mixing strictly techno and trance genres in his show. Inspired and influenced mainly by some great old world renowned artists such as (Barry White, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole ...), his mission is to take on the aesthetic in all his works and keep his taste, his passion for good music. Although he was very little known to public performance in his homeland, he has performed in the most prestigious locations in the country for special occasions since the beginning of his career. At the end of the year 2008, he became the resident DJ of a great club and lounge at Petion Ville (Trotoyl Bar & Lounge). In October 2009 until December 31st the same year he also became the resident dj of LE LOUNGE (the lounge of ROYAL OASIS hotel). he debuted his own radio show (SOUL OF MUZIK - www.mixcloud.com/drrub) in september 2011 to June 7th, 2013 every Friday at five on Radio Eclair 100.5, a widely listened party station in the country. In 2012 he signed a non-exclusive contract with a German label ULTRASONIC MUSIC GERMANY with which he 1st released on BEATPORT, JUNO DOWNLOAD UK and ITUNES, a caribbean song FAYA GIAL performed by Jimmy Ruff.
