With an adequate supply of multivitamins now available in the U.S. market, it is important to ensure that your clinical practice for dosing multivitamins for your patients on parenteral nutrition (PN) meets the standard of care. This podcast discusses the appropriate dosing of multivitamins in pediatric and adult PN patients when rationing is not needed. It addresses misconceptions on the adequacy of substandard dosing and uses patient cases to demonstrate the importance of consistency in dosing and delivery of vitamins to patients on PN.

The Interaction of Pediatric Disease-Related Malnutrition and Food Insecurity

This podcast brings together two research teams publishing on bronchopulmonary dysplasia and micronutrient status.  Experts Melanie Newkirk, Jennifer Curtiss, Audrey Miller are the authors of the two papers discussed titled, “Effect of vitamin D supplementation on incidence of bronchopulmonary dysplasia among preterm infants <36 weeks gestational age” and “Review of micronutrients and fatty acids in bronchopulmonary dysplasia”.
