On this episode, Kerry interviews Isobel Knight, a writer, researcher and lecturer on hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. She was also a practitioner of the Bowen technique--a gentle form of soft tissue therapy from Australia for 17 years. Isobel unfortunately medically retired in 2017.. Isobel is the author of 'A Multidisciplinary Approach to Managing Ehlers-Danlos (Type III) - Hypermobility Syndrome' and she co-wrote, with John Wilks, 'Using the Bowen Technique to Address Complex and Common Conditions.’  

Isobel first published the book, 'Hypermobility Syndrome - bending without breaking' that became so successful it was changed into a second edition in 2016, and contains 5 new chapters. Isobel also had a narrative medicine and EDS article published in the prestigious American Journal of Genetics in 2015. Isobel also worked with Dr. Carol Clark at the University of Bournemouth on research into a humanistic framework for managing EDS which culminated in a paper published in December 2017 in the Journal of Qualitative Studies of Health Well-Being.  Isobel has been published in the British Medical Journal and has lectured extensively across the United Kingdom.
