What’s in a name? Well when you are talking about up and coming hip-hop superstar “The Astronomical Kid” his name says it all. “Astro” as he is known to friends and fans epitomizes many if not all of the correlations attributed to his name. Prodigious, epic, massive, are all perfect descriptions of Astro’s appeal and talent. This kid is a monster when it comes to writing and rhyming!!! Yes, he writes his own rhymes!!! Anyone having had the opportunity to experience an “Astronomical Kid” performance or have had the privilege of owning an “Astronomical Kid” CD can testify to the monumental impact this kid is sure to leave on the world of hip-hop. In an industry many fear is disintegrating because of a lack of true emcees, Astro brings forth a new energy with his versatile flows and straight from the gut deliveries. At just fourteen years old he has established himself as more than just another child rapper, he is a respected lyricist.

Born and raised in New York where he resides with his mother, Astro attends high school in the Bedstuy area of Brooklyn. What sets this young emcee apart from other rappers is his ability to conceptualize and convey his thoughts over any track, in such a way that evokes nostalgia in the hearts of old school hip-hop followers, all the while providing a fresh new sound that is sure to get the heads of the new hip-hop generation bopping. A contradiction in and of himself, Astro is a diehard old school rap fanatic. He spends much of his time studying the lyrical styles of artist in the likes of Rakim, KRS1 and Run DMC, just to name a few. Tupac Shakur, Biggie Smalls and Nas also serve as sources of influence for Astro. His greatest musical influence however, is Jay-Z, to whom he is often compared.

Astro has developed into a force to be reckoned with, ensuring that all who attends his shows will leave feeling thoroughly entertained. The kid is a beast on the stage!!! After years of hard work or “paying his dues” as they say in the industry, 2010 proved to be the breakout year for Astro, gaining him much deserved recognition. Never a disappointment, Astro continues to wow audiences along the east coast, performing a medley of his hits at events such as; the Kiss 101.7 2010 Spring Jam, where he opened for B.O.B, Fat Joe, Melanie Fiona and Cali Swag District, The Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival, The City of Wilmington Delaware, The NYC Board of Education, the legandary Webster Hall in MYC and the Alabama Family Fest in Birmingham, AL where he opened for Chrisette Michelle, Kelly Price and J. Moss. All of which was just the beginning! Following the release of his first music video “Stop Looking at My Momz” aptly named after his single, Astro has joined the ranks of fellow Youtube teen sensations turned superstars; Justin Beiber, Diggy Simmons and Soulja Boy.

Astro’s undeniable talent has garnered the attention of everyone within earshot of his microphone, earning him a ¾ page write-up in the New York Daily News, an invitation to speak at the NYC Council against Street harassment of girls and women, mentions on all of the major hip-hop blog sites, including multiple features on Thisis50.com. Astro also gained the approval of one of the air ways’ most controversial personalities, Imus of the “Imus in the Morning” radio talk show. “Not stopping for a second” as the young phenom says in one of his rhymes, Astro is intent on world domination, saturating the media with features on BET’s “106 and Park” as well as dual features on MTV’s newest hit show “The Seven.” WPIX 11, Fox 5’s Good Day New York and Brooklyn News 12 are only a few of the programs on which Astro has made appearances. He is also featured in the December 2010 issue of The Source Magazine in their “Unsigned Hype” segment as one of rap’s burgeoning up and comers.

Life, love, and beauty abound in the music of Kree Woods.  This indie pop singer/songwriter is busy writing, recording, and performing the songs that are gaining attention and resonating with her rapidly growing fan base.  Her success has been astounding since the release of her debut 5-song EP earlier this year. Her song “Cave In” peaked at No. 10 on the iTunes singer/songwriter charts and charted in several European countries as well. “Cave In” was also featured by MTV on The Real World: Las Vegas, which prompted the esteemed music blog Kings of A&R to publish their second post about this amazing artist!

Hailing from the Dallas/Fort Worth, TX, The Bright* is described as “beautiful, stylish stuff that just might infiltrate your daydreams” by the Fort Worth Star Telegram and “that strange collective with a penchant for writing the most radio-friendly songs this side of L.A.” by the Dallas Observer. 

With an underlay of dreamy/thick guitar swirls supporting vocal dynamics ranging from sexy modern pop to intense rock (and even operatic, as reflected by their ambitious cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Kashmir”), the songwriting is always about delivering hooks -  both familiar and unique with certain unpredictability that is tasteful and emotional. The band’s common thread seems to be each member’s influence and love for a vast array of British Rock eras, including the far reaches of 60’s to present day, pop to progressive and electronic to organic. 

After releasing their debut LP in 2008, “In Lucid Dreams”, the band was approached by MTV and Fox Sports to license songs for use in the networks’ programming. Since then, The Bright*s songs have been featured in MTV’s “The Hills”, “Parental Control”, “Seven”, “Made”, “Hired”, “Teen Cribs”, “My Sweet Sixteen”, the multi-platform broadcast / V-cast Verizon Network supernatural series “Valemont” and Fox Sports’ Vizio Profiles (featuring Green Bay Packers QB and Super Bowl MVP Aaron Rodgers). The Bright* has also received prominent airplay in the L.A. market on KKZQ 100.1 The Edge, in Grand Rapids, MI on WGRD 97.9, via the web on the Renegade Radio Network and X-Stream Radio as well as abroad via radio segments hosted by English music journalist Kelv Hellrazor.  

 The Bright* has also partnered with the social network Share The Mic (www.sharethemic.com ), an organization that brings together artists, charities and foundations into a unique network that mutually supports an artist’s drive to build a fan base and a charitable institution’s need to raise awareness. Through this relationship, the band has been matched with the charity Autism Speaks, an advocacy organization the band is very passionate about. 

Following the release of the “Diamonds on the Snow” EP in March 2011, The Bright* released the full-length LP entitled “Objects of My Affection” in June 2011 - with music videos for the singles “Charmed” and “Over and Over” following thereafter in July 2011. There’s a clear distinction between hearing someone and actually listening to them. Majesty Mell is definitely someone that people need to listen to. Hailing from Brooklyn NY, the hard working, young entertainer, infuses his tireless work ethic in every aspect of his music. Majesty Mell gives us the meaning behind his name - M.A.J.E.S.T.Y is an acronym for (M)ust (A)ccept (J)amel's (E)xcellence (S)tarting (T)oday (Y)es and M.E.L.L. represents (M) ost (E)xcellent (L)iving (L)egend.

Majesty Mell recalls, as a youth he didn't have very many friends mainly because of his “over- achiever” attitude. “I just felt that I had to make the best of any opportunity that was given to me, even as a kid”. Unfortunately, this type of philosophy made his peers despise him even more.

Introduced to the world of hip hop at the tender age of 4, Majesty Mell remembers going completely insane whenever a Snoop Dogg video came on MTV. Although too young to rap, the young scientist would hang around his uncles as they would write rhymes & practice routines to impress the local girls. Fast forward four years later - Majesty Mell would be directly affected by a legendary Queensbridge MC known to the world as Nasir Jones or better known as Nas. The 8 year old began writing rhymes to the beats that came out of his childhood video games, T.V. commercials, songs played on the radio, and even to the sounds & rhythm of a local construction site doing demolition just a few blocks from his home. This diverse landscape of sound and music would become the very fabric of his artistry. Majesty Mell describes his music as; complex, yet simplistic, street orientated mood music! “My music caters to the forgotten street dwellers who thrive on the hope & possibility of a brighter day”.

Majesty Mell's online presence has grown tremendously over the past year and with the help of super producers like; THX - Producer for Snoop Dogg, David Banner, Flawless - Wale's Official Producer, Superstar O - Producer for Chris Brown, Jim Jones, T Pain, Waka Flocka, Tyga, Wiz Khalifa, Rosco Dash - Majesty Mell is on the fast track to becoming the young king of urban hip hop. I am singer songwriter who's based in the pearl of Africa that is Uganda. I started singing at a young age with dreams to be a pop star. I am slowly getting there as I've been featured on various hits playing on MTV Base.. I am releasing my first album soon.

The project was created in 1995 by Moscow musicians Arkady Martinenko and Boris Nazarov. In 1995-1997 the collective was playing concerts at experimental «Substation» radio. These lives provided background for the first album «Surround Wednesday». At the same time MGI started giving concerts in Russia and abroad; it took part in festivals «Kazantip» (Crimea), «Subtropique» (Georgia).  In 1999 MGI second album «Pizza» was issued. The basis of the release is funk with elements of drum-n-base and trip-hop. 
In 2000 MGI released its third album «Commercial» and filmed 6 video clips that were rotated on MTV Russia, Muz-TV, Musiс box, A one and o2Tv channels.  In 2002 MGI new album «Tangibility» appeared.  Such well known labels as Netlmage Foundation and MPLS. Ltd released vinyl singles from the album. The fifth album of the project «Les etoiles sont plus proches avec les yeux fermes» was released in 2005. 
Several times during the latest years MGI became finalist of Qwartz Electronic Music Awards. MGI tracks are included to music compilations, issued by such record companies as Pork recordings, George V, Les Maquis, Pschent. 
Since 2008 MGI consists of Boris Nazarov, Yuri Shulgin and Pavel Khotin. Now the project is recording its sixth album.
