Life is short. The life of a human being is short. This may not seem apparent because of scale. Human beings measure their lifetimes in years—in age. For a human being, the scale of a year feels substantial enough to make a lifetime appear significant. But at any point, you may question the proportional length of a hundred years against the scale of the universe. It's probably less than a second.

How do I know this? Because a second or less is the flash of a thought. Thoughts may feel as if they persist longer than a second, but only because they are re-projected in sequence until that thought is dropped and makes room for another.

Why is the scale of a thought's duration—a flash of thought—the right scale? When you consider the proportion of the timeless universe, everything that you are, that you take yourself to be, that you identify with, is contained within a single thought. For a thought to exist in you, it must come to you.

The "I" thinks. The "I" which is the thinker, thinks. So if you want, you can say the DNA of a thought is the DNA of the thinker.

The time of a flash of thought to a human's lifetime is as the time of a human lifetime to the timeless universe—to creation itself.

The toll it takes on me is something i struggle to fully comprehend. It's as if there's a heavy weight, just sitting on my chest, shoulder, and heart... making it difficult to breathe, to continue, ...and i can't quite reach down to understand the depths of this burden. Every day feels like the last one, and the emotional strain lingers just beneath the surface, elusive and hard to grasp.

But the more i reach, more elusive it becomes, leaving me in state of perpetual longing, yearning.. for clarity, to find the reaching hand that can help me understand.
