This month on ALT CAST, we are very excited to have a one hour exclusive mix from Detroit native and Brooklyn based artist: Arvin T. More about the artist below:

Arvin T is a Midwest born, Brooklyn based DJ. Raised in a musical household in the 80's and 90's, his older sisters and parents would play anything from disco, synth wave, industrial, to Persian pop music, and hip hop, the list is endless. His first foray into live music was his freshman year in college, when he and friends would attend pre-parties for Detroit Electronic Music Festival. After some time, he explored the house and techno scenes between Detroit and Chicago.

His move after college to Chicago exposed him to an entirely new area of music. Attending many club nights, he learned from Chicago house, to high energy, or even more melodic sounds and trance. He was making playlists and finding new music that he loved, adding to his musical palette.

Arvin’s sets can range from nu-italo and EBM, to hard trance and techno. His style started to form as he began to notice that the music he gravitated towards would have a signature '80s sound, but with a future and present twist. Influenced by the fresh sounds coming from Toulouse, Amsterdam, and Berlin, he curates his sets to be driving and relentless, while leading his audience through the entire spectrum of emotions.

Arvin T is currently a monthly resident at Hart Bar in Brooklyn, where he hosts his Harekat parties that invite local artists to come display their talent. The parties range from industrial techno and minimal, to house and italo. He has played in the New York City, Chicago, Miami, and Tampa areas.

🚀Today we launch a new mixtape series curated by Reyk 🚀

More than 15 years ago Reyk started his love for electronic music with trance and that love never really faded away. Now he mostly focusses on Dark Disco and Italo, nonetheless he collected quite a few trance tracks over the years that he wanted to share in a mixtape. He started to record a few mixtapes and decided to share those within his circle of friends. 

💃 Since the response was overwhelmingly positive he decided to start a new project called DJ Tarka, and to share the tapes with more than just friends. Although TANK Radio focusses mostly on Dark Disco and like-minded music, we wanted to create a mixtape series to host this project. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did, this is episode one of our new series: 'Tarka Tapes'! 💃

Venezuelan Born in 1989 Mike Sacchetti is an Amsterdam DJ and Producer influenced by the darker side of adult disco music.
As many, started as promoter, throwing parties in the city of Madrid and after a couple of years wandering in the night, he became resident of important bar/clubs such as Phoenix Bar, Cafe Berlin and Stella Club, constantly present at Fluido and Switch nights, alongside and handful of known international names. Such exposure caught the attention of others and on 2019 as Ivan De La Rouch, offers him the role of curator for the label Logical Records meanwhile signing his first tracks with Luca Venezia's (aka Curses) Ombra International and Play Pal Music. Receiving support from Legendary DJ's like Sir Andrew Weatherall and Justin Strauss. Currently he can be found based on the canals of Amsterdam looking look for new releases to publish and translating some personal feelings into music and moods, and being part of the dark synthpop project called Kawasaki Johnsson.

Having spent his youth in the late 80’s / early 90’s falling in love with Chicago & Detroit’s music scenes, Arvin T has accumulated a superb base of musical knowledge, absorbing not just from the music itself but from the culture that goes with it. 

Father of the @bedroomdjfantasies page, he is a deeply engrained member of the Italo community with his wealth of knowledge for the genre being a key ingredient to his success, tickling funny bones as well as ear drums.

With sets that wonderfully drift between modern italo, EBM, Dark Disco & Detroit electro as demonstrated in his ‘Harekat’ Soundcloud series, we are gassed to have one of our own so without further ado here’s Topshelf 074 w/ Arvin T. Enjoy
