This week on Topshelf we are excited to bring you German melody maker, DJ & Producer, Frederick Ansgar.

Hailing from Cologne but making his home in the UK, Frederick Ansgar is a genre bending machine, exploring his craft through his deep house / minimal productions after being inspired by the UK’s house/techno scene.

Forever finding the sweet spot with his tracks (as demonstrated on his newest EP ‘In The Echospace’) & with his mixes, composing  somewhere between atmospheric minimal & club appropriate bangers, we are proud to presents the soulful sounds of Frederick Ansgar .

This weeks Topshelf is bought to you by Bristol based minimal DJ/Producer Quelaan.
An extremely gifted producer, Quelaan's use of percussion and his ability to mould breaks, deep house & electro into his own version of minimal is what separates him from the pack.  
His brilliantly diverse debut Album, 2021's 'Convergent Boundary' couldnt have been a better base to build from and now, with a multitude of EP's under his belt including 'QB006' which came out this week, Quelaan is establishing his sound within the minimal community as a resident of Eject Records and live at the Cock&Tail.
Nothing but big things on the horizon for this man, so without further ado, we're gassed to bring you Topshelf 073 and the delicious beats of Quelaan, enjoy.

After a short hiatus Topshelf is back with LA based, minimal / house, DJ & Producer Patrick Loda.

With a fascination for house music that begun after visiting Berlin in his teens, Patrick Loda has dedicated his early years to the game, graduating from ICON Collective in 2019 and spending the following years gaining experience and notoriety playing nightclubs around LA. 
In 2021 he released his first EP 'Deeper & Deeper' on Yoon Records which beautifully blends the Deep House, Minimal & Dirtybird genres together to create tracks that can seemingly be played in any environment, from big room nightclubs to cocktail lounges.
Since that release the bar has continued to rise, with further EP's carrying that feel throughout including a glorious 6 track EP with another one of our favourite Minimal house producers Marco Roberto.

This week on Topshelf we have our head honcho Raven Krista serving up a rare, almost exclusively minimal set.
Fresh off the back of his London debut at a packed Shackleton Arms with the Allsorts crew where he threw down one of his signature italo sets, Raven is back on Topshelf with a different kind of blend. 
After an inspiring b2b with Minimal DJ/Producer & former Topshelf guest Quelaan at the Cock and Tail, he decided to put together something a little different.
Experimenting with the Minimal genre whilst pulling from the outside influences of Deep house, Italo, Tech house and 90's inspired house, get the speakers on and the drinks pouring for a soothing 2 hour special from one of our own.

This week on Topshelf we’re extremely excited to have with us French Minimal DJ/Producer Max Cohle.

An incredibly busy producer with 8 singles released last year alone including the beautifully fluid ‘Patiently’ alongside Italian producer Nae:Tek, the bouncy video game anthem ‘Hippodrum’ and the jazz infused gem ‘Reflection’ with Microdrive head Beneath Usual.

Max Cohles ability to use minimal as a vessel to explore different sub-genres is constantly represented in the tracks he produces, often pulling elements from deep house, jazz house and tech house using gorgeous synths, electronic chimes added with his dancing baselines to ensure his music always makes you feel something.

This week on Topshelf we’re delighted to have with us Brazilian DJ/Producer Zanelato.

A master of the edit, Zanelato has been producing under his moniker since his 2020 version of Ray Phiri’s ‘Play that sax’. 

This early work would be the first demonstration of Zanelato’s style of groove, calling back to the soulful production of the late 80’s / early 90’s as further showcased on his next release. A remix of JND’s ‘Dub in Paris’.

One of Zanelato’s biggest merits is celebrating Latin American music and his next string of edits would do just that, with glorious edit’s of Paula Santoro’s ‘Só Você E Eu’ and Afrodite Se Quiser’s ‘Vida Ferida’, introducing us in the West to a range of artists undiscovered. 

Zanelato’s latest run see’s him put a 90’s spin on The Beloved’s classic ‘The Sun Rising’, MC Eddy’s ‘Quero’, Margareth Menezes’ ‘Elegibô’ and Angélica’s ‘ O Meu Jeito De Ser’.

This week on Topshelf we're delighted to have with us Hungarian Tech House DJ & Producer, Vitus.

With a vibrant career that only began in 2024 and to those who know his work, Vitus is an extremely impressive tech house producer, releasing a multitude of singles, as well as an EP all in his debut year.

His 'Luxx' EP is one of the most enjoyable tech house records we came across in 2024, with 'Bring it on' being a summer corker, fitting for any motive once the sun reveals itself. The title track shows off Vitus' quality in his production, with glorious strings and a minimal tech house under belly that gives us one of our favourite tracks within the genre, an understated classic. 'Closed Doors' closes out the EP with it's synth flare and percussive prowess to make this a highly impressive debut.

His latest track 'Bob Jamz' fittingly does exactly what it says on the tin, in fact it's impossible 
not to have a bob to. Utilising funky piano notes and basslines, on top of breaks samples to give us another track that never rushes any of its components and carries on the trend of top quality tracks, in a genre that needs some new life blown through it. Vitus is that guy.

This week on Topshelf we’re delighted to have with us, all the way from Germany, Harry Nipples.

With a superb start to 2025 playing at Katernacht alongside the likes of Bryan Kessler, M-High and Bambi S, Harry Nipples is a euphoric treat to the ear drums.

With her sets aesthetically celebrating the 80’s, serving out glorious synths, pulsating basslines and piano grooves, Harry Nipples is truly a fantastic representation for Italo.

‘Dance Now’, Harry Nipples original track with fellow Berliner jo.desaga is an italo DJ’s dream, giving us 90’s inspired trance vocals alongside dreamy signature piano keys and a superb bassline that is impossible not to throw down to. Anthem.

With a crackin’ mix for us incorporating Italo and Soul and perfectly showcasing the artists exceptional mixing and track selection, serving it all up on a wave of 80’s emotion. We couldn't be happier to bring the groovin' delights of Harry Nipples. Enjoy

Loose FM - The Library LMD Presents Loose Fits 002 w/ Mario Niain + Raven Krista

The Library LMD are bringing another big edition of Loose fits this week, with Glasgow residing DJ/Producer and Co-Founder of Y4Collective, Yesca. 

With an incredibly diverse style that allows him to work within multiple genres, Yesca’s work spans through a variety of house sub genres as well breaks and disco. 
He’s been consistently dishing out the goods every few months, for years at this point whilst still demonstrating high quality production and constant experimentation.

Here’s a few of our favourites. ‘Let’s Talk’,  ‘Brother’, ‘Where’s the Grit Gone’.

Opening up the show, as always, is our Resident Raven Krista. Providing a calm bop with a diverse selection of reasonably relaxed house corkers with some 80’s and 90’s glare for good measure.

The Library LMD are back again with a 4th show and we have a huge treat for you today with one of our favourite disco DJs, Bristol-based Beavs. We can not scream this impressive DJ’s praises loud enough, always bringing glorious vibes, with her eclectic selection of grooves that never disappoint. Expect soul and disco from all corners of the globe. The second hour is closed by our very own Raven Krista who attempts to do the impossible and match Beavs' energy with some of his favourite disco and soul tracks.

Topshelf is back after a short hiatus throughout the essay period, but we are back and proud to bring you a fresh new mix from DJ / Producer, Queen of Coins.

With a self titled debut album releasing at the end of 2024, Queen of Coins has started there production career off with a bang, with the record featuring an array of corkers, including the ever evolving ’Summer Card’, which analogically delivers a wonderful start to the record.

Other highlights include ’Bring It To The Top’ , ‘Damaged Souls’, ‘Oreo Cake’ and ‘Head Tension’ which all carry the signature pulsating baselines, giving us a juicy italo core accompanied with beautiful synths, all harking back to 80’s nostalgia.

This week on Topshelf we’re delighted to have with us Bristol based, Deep Tech DJ/Producer, Alexisitry.

With a multitude of accomplished formats under her belt, Alexisitry has a SWU.FM show, whilst also being member of Bristols techno events team and record label, Flat 7, on top of heading up her own night, Alexisitry’s Cocktail Club. The next progression naturally for the impressive DJ was to start releasing music and 2024 saw the beginning of what looks to be an illustrious production career. Teaming up with fellow Flat 7 member Edetto for both the techno stomper ‘Where The Party At?’ and ‘Where the 1 At?’, which is a golden track for afters.
