In contrast to the dark mood of the pandemic winter during which it was conceived, the track is crafted as an uplifting and optimistic statement about the future. It celebrates the journey out of The Accident, which refers to those months of forced isolation and fear of an unknown enemy. 

Composing this track helped greatly with the process of re-emergence from those gloomy days - it was a safe place to come back to whenever refuge was needed and it has evolved into a container of feelings and memories. 

The track is a rich and multi-layered composition which is at times fast and thundering, at times mellow and intimate - telling a narrative which ebbs and flows over the course of the song.

I wrote this song in 2001 and it's for all the American veterans out there, Happy Veterans Day 2023! I am a veteran, I served 10 years in the U.S. Air Force and I'm very proud to have served my country! I wrote this song a few years after I moved to Louisville and it is basically a Rock & Roll song with a little Country thrown in for good flavor! It's a very patriotic song and I hope everyone enjoys it! Charlie and I both sang it together and he played a very cool harmonica part. Watch the video on YouTube for a true patriotic experience!
