Gene Hoffmann has been a part of the world techno fraternity since the mid 90’s. He’s best known for his dynamic multichannel DJ sets that blend a broad range of techno that appeals to both the mind and feet, and for his infectious enthusiasm for techno music in general.

Since 1997 Gene has given his all as an underground techno DJ and occasional promoter. He has shared the stage with almost every international techno heavyweight, and has appeared at countless festivals, underground parties and club nights, including the spiritual home of techno - Tresor. He regularly travels across Australia, Asia and Europe to make noise and drink as much beer as possible.

Gene is a passionate controllerist and music gear junkie, and has been so since digital DJing was in its infancy. After learning his trade on turntables for the best part of a decade Gene progressed on to Final Scratch in 2004, before venturing deeper down the rabbit hole of digital programming. The possibilities of digital control combined with a turntabilist’s ethos, has helped Gene scape his sound and find his niche.

Gene has been a driving force behind Australian techno brands including Billion Underground, Jesus Horse and Panic Stricken Bovine. He lives in the bush outside of Melbourne, Australia, and loves nothing more than mixing at home with his mates in his studio. He doesn't seek out weekly gigs anymore, but feels very privileged to be invited to play occasional good quality local, interstate and international techno events, and to share his music online to all.

Fronted by charismatic vocalist Lucy Levinsohn, alt-rockers EVOLOVE will release their sophomore Ep Breaking Heartstrings, the inaugural release on the band’s very own HeartChord Records. In addition to being available via iTunes and other digital outlets, Hot Topic stores and Torrid outlets will offer a version on CD as well as exclusive band apparel.

Systematically erecting a delicate balance between soaring melodies and aggressive elegance, Breaking Heartstrings represents a natural evolution expanding upon the musical footprint of 2012: Countdown to the End, an auspicious debut mixed by Brian Virtue (Audioslave, 30 Seconds to Mars, Deftones) that fostered an array of key placements on ABC's top-rated teen drama Pretty Little Liars as well as MTV’s hit shows Made, True Life and Teen Mom.

Amps and emotions on overdrive embolden Heartstrings as first single “Wake Up Call” carves a psychological hole in the center of the sun with its penetrating urgency igniting a meteor shower of wattage. Led by the twin stack, guitar attack of Dave Corsile and Colby Jensen and bolstered by the propulsive low-end theory of bassist Billy Berman, it’s a four-minute gut-check that packs a heavyweight wallop.

It’s no head fake. “Wake Up Call” has the potential to unite a nation of “broken heartstrings,” so to up the ante; Levinsohn recently collaborated with Swedish audiovisual phenom Iggi Oggard (Piñata Protest) on an elaborate story-driven music video. Filmed during one twenty-hour day on a horse ranch in the celebrity-filled hills above Mulholland Drive, its visual arc is a mélange of campy revelry, old western folklore and a dab of voodoo. A late July premiere is scheduled.

Rounding out the remainder of the five-song Ep, producer Michael Eisenstein (Letters to Cleo, The Posies, Cruiserweight) adds a trademark pop sheen to the mid-tempo “Irony of Life,” the anthemic alt-rock of “Four Walls,” the theatrical Iron Maiden dynamism of “Fear (Is A Four Letter Word)” and the passionate yearning of “Nothing But Me” which brings to mind power ballads by Red Hot Chili Peppers, Shinedown and Staind.

Last summer, EVOLOVE (pronounced Eh-Voh-Luv) were thrust into the national spotlight as finalists of the FreeCreditScore.com band search. Debuting the group’s commercial during the MLB All-Star game on FOX, the spot amassed millions of impressions across broadcast and cable spectrums. Significant airplay on outlets such as ESPN, CNN and CNBC led to further exposure on MTV and LA’s KTLA TV.

Congealing the TV awareness with incessant touring, EVOLOVE was a featured artist during Hot Topic’s successful “Shop Till You Rock" tour before commencing on a non-stop canvassing of festivals, bars, all-ages clubs, high schools and key industry events including the 2011 Winter NAMM Convention and the 25th Annual SXSW Music Festival in Austin, TX.

This summer, EVOLOVE put the rubber to the road once again on their first-ever cross-country jaunt. Joining them for the initial batch of dates are Hollywood hard rockers Stitched Up Heart, whom also have a new Ep on the horizon. Both bands will then assimilate an axis point of a Reinforcement Tour triumvirate coalesced by ethereal metal quintet Gemini Syndrome and its lead prognosticator, Aaron Nordstrom.

Leading Eternity After Death (L.E.A.D.) is an upcoming metal band hailing from Chicago. 
Formed in 2005, they have opened for and shared the stage with the likes of: Lamb of God, The Black Dahlia Murder, Oceano, WhiteChapel, Six Feet Under, Darkest Hour, As Blood Runs Black, Dead Horse Trauma, Gemini Syndrome, PowerGlove, GWAR, Job For A Cowboy, and many others.

Their influences include: Lamb of God, Slayer,  Avenged Sevenfold, Chimaira, Korn, The Black Dahlia Murder, and John 5.

Alex Lauterstein:
1996-1998
*Alex came from Uruguay to New York on vacation in 1992 and never went back. This former Arquitecture student started his career at the legendary underground party XK, where he served the nigh elite goers with his signature futuristic tribal sound. Word quickly spread of his rising star’s potential, and he was offered a prestigious spot on the main floor of NY’s TWILO night Club, opening for Danny Tenaglia, later taking the helm as the headlining act. From there to a residency @ Peter Gatien’s TUNNEL. Alex was approached by grammy winner remixer/prod , Peter Rauhofer who introduce him to the recording studio where they collaborated on several tracks for Peter’s project “Size Queen” album Pimps Pumps and Pushers from where Alex remixed the track K-HOLE, his first studio remix , a joint venture with NYC DJ great Johnny Vicious. When the legendary church turned nightclub LIMELIGHT reopen in the summer of 1998, Alex signed for a weekly spot which would bring him to the attention of the most famous promoters in NYC soon becoming an elite Dj for the circuit scene headlining on the most notorious clubs in the city like THE ROXY . From there Alex shared the DJ booth in many occasions with world renowned DJS like Saha and Diggweed,Kevin Saunderson,  Paul Oakenfold, Timo Mass, Junior Vazquez , Diddy Sinclair, to name a few.

*At the get go of the new millennium Alex mixed HX magazine’s debut double CD compilation(Centaur Records), the critically acclaimed “The HX PROJECT” followed by a promo tour soon after through the US, Canada, Japan and South America . Note, this former Arch student and , by extension a perfectionist who would always color inside the lines-insisted on recording the set in a “live”setting in order to enhance its overall energy. According to Lauterstein’s philosophy, ” a mixed set that is recorded in the studio is often going to be too perfect, it’s not going to have the ‘live’feel that you get in the club…for me that feeling it’s very important”.

2001 
*Alex records his first original studio project with composer Hayley Moss , in a film soundtrack meets electronica meets house music , under the studio name ” THREE WING BUTTERFLY” for the EP METAMORPHOSIS which features 4 original tracks plus 3 remixes. The group first track was picked up by Peter Rauhofer for a remix project of his classic works.
*Alex records the second continuos Mixed compilation for Centaur Records for the Global Groove series” FEEL MY DRUMS” followed by a US/Canada tour.
*Alex appears at the Electric Circus @ MUCH MUSIC TV , Toronto, Canada.

2002
*Alex puts out his 3rd continuous mix (Centaur Records) for Global Groove series but this time he switches gears and presents for the first time for the label the ” CHILL OUT” getting amazing reviews , 4 out of 5 stars. As this review from About.com tells:
“It’s a fine line that DJs walk between mixing Chill out and Dance music. Although both are related to the same Electronica family, they’re more like distant cousins. Each needs and deserves a different kind of attention, and has almost opposite points of view. Dance music is all about exciting partiers to their feet with thumping beats and rousing vocals, while Chillout generally entices us with quieter bedroom vibes. Few DJs have had success trying to jump from one style to the other. Luckily, Alex Lauterstein makes a smooth transition with his second Global Groove release “Chillout”. Here he puts together an intelligent and impressive collection, including tracks from downtempo darlings Alex Gopher, Zero 7 and Groove Armada. The compilation is deliciously inviting and perfect for setting the mood—whether you’re trying to unwind or unzip. Starting out the mix is the ethereal “Float On” by Mystic Diversions, a warm, jazzy track that evokes the feeling of a relaxing, sunny afternoon on a beach. As with other types of Electronic music, escapism is an important part of Chillout—it’s easy to get lost in it’s flow. *Alex creates the soundtrack for the DOLCE & GABBANA 02-03 Fall Winter Show in Milan, Italy, including one of his remixes , GET IT READY , as the closing theme song for the show. Alex artsy sensitivity to the fashion world and good taste is evident to many designers , leading him to work in several projects in the coming years for the likes of CALVIN KLEIN, VERA WANG , FRANKIE MORELLO, ARMANI X as also with magazines like OUT, GENRE, PAPER, SPIN to name a few.
*PARIS NOIR. 2002- Alex headlines the first European TOUR in the city of love, bringing a full on production from NY to Paris for a 3 day club tour @ the most prestigious parisians nightclubs like LA LOCOMOTIVE, THE RED LITE and THE MONKEY CLUB .

*Exploring and experimenting is what Alex enjoys the most and being a musician is the next logical step for him. For this he has formed with fame producer and performer SIRPAUL, the studio Band SIMULOVER, a blend of dance/pop/80′s/electronica .The project was recorded  in 3 recording studios in NY, Manhattan .
Simulover's first double single UNBROKEN and GHOSTBOX was released digitally on itunes in february 2011 .

The creative synergy between the duo spawned a full collaboration to round out the songs on Alex’s debut album, “Cinématique”, released october 21st 2014 worldwide .
About the album-
“Cinématique” is the first phase in the release of over a decade’s worth Lauterstein’s yet un-released studio work.
“2013 came around and my focus shifted from touring to the studio. I really wanted to finish so many of these projects I started over the years and made the decision to give them the attention they deserved. As any producer/touring DJ can tell you, staying focused is almost impossible on the road, especially before laptops became powerful enough to be portable studios”!
The album is an aural journey reflecting the journey that is Alex’s life and career in New York. From the late night clubland imagery evoked from “Dreaming Romantics” to the introspective and metaphysical “Life in the 4th Dimension”, the album chronicles Alex’s shift from sometimes being conscious to spiritually and consciously being aware, of be-ing.
Some have described it as a concept album, some as a trip through sound but everyone agrees, it’s listenable and best enjoyed from start to finish.
A specially packaged, very limited edition 6 pack of colored vinyl is planned for release, Q2 of 2015, featuring the full length, unmixed album singles on the A side, remixes on the B side and quite possibly a surprise or two!

Session Americana (Boston) is a rock band in a tea cup, or possibly a folk band in a whiskey bottle. This band/collective of talented musicians craft an musical experience unlike any other. On stage is a collapsible bar table wired with microphones, a vintage suitcase recast as a kick drum, an old Estey field organ, a pre-war parlor guitar, a mandocello and all of its smaller siblings, a harmonica case fire damaged when Jack's bar went up in flames and graffitied by Depeche Mode roadies, and an assortment of other instruments that get passed around in this freewheeling modern hootenanny. The anything-could-happen feel of a Session show depends on craft that's not accidental or easilywon; they bring a kind of ease and genuineness to this timeless music, sometimes presenting the latest batch of original songs, sometimes reaching back into depths of the American "song bag".

Session Americana is an absolute must-see, must-hear.
Says David Greenberger of NPR:"I'd give them 100 miles. That is to say, if they're playing anywhere within 100 miles of your home, you drive there and are grandly rewarded for your effort."

Their newest album LOVE AND DIRT (September 4, 2012) is a cohesive and and wellcomposed batch of songs, a playfully irreverent take on roots music with an edgy experimental side. The record was tracked by Matt Malikowski and noted producer, engineer, and mixer Paul Q. Kolderie, known for his work with the Pixies, Radiohead, Hole, Dinosaur Jr., Throwing Muses, Morphine, and the Mighty Mighty Bosstones.

An essential part of Session Americana is collaboration and spontaneity. All I know is this: the trumpet sounds in the distance and I must stumble towards its plaintive, soprano song. How long has it been blowing without my responding? I do not know. The exodus from my last musical boxing match left my ears dull from thrown stones and plugged with tossed flowers. But, now, their weathering and wilting has given way to resurrection and I hear the beckoning serenade. So, I’m waking my musical legs up from their slumber.
Who knows what my tingling, aching, somewhat atrophied appendages will find as I fight thru the charlie horse of comfortable mattresses and familiar perfume. Penicillin, teflon, LSD, popsicles,...America....were all accidental discoveries. Some more great than others (popsicles>America)....Its all very uncertain. But yet I, forge on in what is either a fool’s march or a faithful pilgrimage across this invisible, swinging bridge. Why follow the brass bellowing? When risk seems to be its one reward? One sacred certainty arms my soul. One sacred certainty continues to push back the whispers of the ever-advancing, ever-retreating army of uncertainties. The unyielding truth that the whistles and the bells is not my identity- even for all the evidence stacked up against my claim in the way of banjos and mandolins and southern fried british electric guitar sound waves dancing with left-footed, knee-buckled lyrics that were the tattered silk soundtrack that scored my awkward youth. Their audible conglomeration points its fingers at me but I am an allusive target to myself. So is it a piece of the pie? yes, but not the pie. I can’t imagine the whole of the pie myself so how can I feed it to you?
And so it will not be my wrecking ball. I intend it to be a wrecking ball. But my buildings' foundation is indestructible. It is other-wordly. Supernatural. And that certainty leads to fearlessness. And so the whistles and the bells is the chubby child plunging himself into the deep waters of the rec center pool because he knows his father’s rescue is his undeserved reward should his dog paddle prove ineffective.
That said, my heart has its ear to the train track of yours hoping you will “get it”. "Like it" be damned- it’s too cheap a concern. “Get it” is the mistress with more integrity- so I will rest my bar there. If you don’t get it, and let it be noted, I would love for you to...but if you don’t- so be it. I don’t know if I do. Simply, approached the canvass and painted. Simple, though, is my mind’s greatest complexity. So it’s a little more Pollock’s “drip paintings” than Picasso’s “blue period” but maybe, ultimately, more Wile E. Coyote’s “fake tunnel” renderings. We’ll see. 
But as the ever-merciful Great Blacksmith’s hammer continues to strike and shape my eggshell skull I am learning that music is not the gateway drug to everything I hate about me that I once thought- I’m the monster I hunt. But my shadow will not scare me back in a hole again. Grace has given strength to my steps. Grace will have to perpetually inhabit my sails if I am to see the harbor of this ships journey. Or...maybe the success of this voyage rest in my pending surrender to this, very much at hand, bathing ocean’s treacherous beauty and not the safety of its harbor. I submit to the sea. And the metaphor. Let the humbling journey begin.

Raphaelites are a five-piece rock band hailing from Barry in South Wales and have been described as being “unremittingly catchy ... takes overused pop-punk and shakes it roughly by the ears until it submits” as well as commanding a dangerous live presence. 
They’ve played at Cardiff’s internationally known Swn Festival and with bands such as Lawson and Hold Your Horse Is. Deemed ‘Hometown Heroes’ by local promoters, the band are tearing a new hole in the South Wales music scene with their debut EP 'Find The Path' and exciting live shows.
