Kristina Gibson writes..."When my best friend, Aaron, passed away, I wanted to give him, his family and friends something that would honour him and keep his memory alive. I picked up the phone, shortly after his death, and called Sarah Smith, who is not only my dear friend, but she was also Aaron’s friend, whom he loved dearly. I asked Sarah if she would be interested in helping me write a song for Aaron. Sarah did not hesitate and got to work right away. With my point form ideas, notes and phrases, Sarah was able to come up with the most beautiful and perfect song for Aaron. “Aaron’s Song” was made with love and his presence was with Sarah as she wrote this song. Aaron’s family loved the song so much that they added it to his celebration of life service. Your love, kindness and compassion are a constant source of comfort. Sarah Smith is a fiercely talented Canadian singer/songwriter, known for her powerful and compelling stage performances and the bold humanity of her songwriting. 
After honing her craft as a member of proto-Punk band The Joys, Sarah has spent the last 15 years as a solo artist, touring relentlessly throughout Canada, while also building a growing and deeply loyal fan base in key parts of the United States and Europe. She has been honoured with over 25 Canadian Independent industry awards for her work, and has shared the stage with some of the most respected Canadian artists of all time, including Carole Pope, Sass Jordan, Joel Plaskett, Bif Naked, as well as International acts like Melissa Etheridge, Nancy Wilson and KT Tunstall.
