it's raychillout we end up with a new ambient lost-on March this composition makes me think of astronauts lost on March thinking about their wives and family, I do not know if I will have managed to pass you this feeling through this ambient but that's the effect I felt when I composed it.

(Story continued from witchtapes #49-50-55-62)

After the sage – accompanied by his trusted guide owl – sneaked stealthily into the forest, he sensed an unusually serene energy.  This was clearly no ordinary forest.  After a while he noticed a procession of animals following a winding trail deeper into the woods.  He decided to follow them until – after a long time - they ground to a halt while they all looked into the distance.  The sage looked into the same direction and what he saw left him completely petrified.  In a nearby clearing he saw a young witch – maybe still in her teens - with long brown hair and an immaculately white dress – prepare some kind of brew in a small cauldron.  The sage didn’t know whether to hide or flee, but when he saw all the animals around him watching this spectacle in a relaxed mood, he concluded it was OK to keep on observing this mystery girl while staying out of sight in order not to disturb her.  Meanwhile the sage wondered how the dress of this barefoot forest girl could be so immaculately white.  After about half an hour, the brew seemed to be ready and the witch took the cauldron away from the fire to let it cool down.  
After a long while, the young witch took the cauldron in her hand and walked away, followed by a bunch of playful forest animals, until she arrived in a glade with at a pond which seemed to hide a well underneath the surface, as a little stream was flowing out of the small water body.  The girl had put the cauldron on the ground near the stream.  She was visibly enjoying the beautiful surroundings and once again it struck the sage how beautiful and elegant she was with her long brown hair and white dress (which looked very clean, but apparently not clean enough for the young witch as she started inspecting her clothes).  And then it became clear what the purpose of the brew was… without any warning she just slipped out of her dress, while the sage’s heart skipped one, two, three beats before looking away as he deemed it inappropriate to look like that at a completely naked girl.  But when he saw that all the animals around him kept on looking at the little witch without blinking an eye, he concluded that it was just fine to keep on observing the movements of the girl, who had by now soaked her dress in the pure water of the little stream while singing a sweet song with a soft voice.  She sprinkled a few drops of the brew on the dirtiest spots of her white dress… so the brew turned out to be a natural and environmentally-friendly washing liquid.  The girl took her time to meticulously wash her dress and after finishing, she hung it to dry in the sun on a nearby tree.  After that, she slowly waded into the pure water of the pond, which seemed to be surprisingly deep as soon only her head was above the water surface.  She started to swim around the tiny lake (which contained crystal clear water from a well under the surface), before flipping onto her back and just floating peacefully on the water.  The choppy movement of the water subsided and after a few minutes, the surface became completely still and smooth, with only some lazy concentric circles moving away from the body of the motionless girl.  These gentle ripples seemed to have a soothing effect on the frogs who were sitting on the edge of the pond, as they stopped croaking.  Also the animals who had accompanied the witch lied down and seemed to fall asleep.  Even the birds of the forest became completely still.  The sage felt his eyelids becoming heavy as the hypnotizing effect of these slow ripples got a grip on him.  He lied down on the soft moss and almost immediately he was swept away in a blissful shallow sleep…

let me be pretentious for a lil bit, I felt like I've been frustrated a lot recently because I can't slow down, I won't let myself take a break. I thought of this idea as a way to slow down and calm myself. there's something about slowing down music that makes it feel so sedative and calming. I think about time a lot and it's interesting to think that music is like a 3 min snapshot of feelings and emotion but you can twist and bend it and speed it up and slow it down and it can completely change the way those emotions feel. anyways the idea behind this mix is that sometimes things just sound better slow, and I wanted to represent that in a mix that's like a weird VHS tape playing in an empty dreamy space where the music just washes over you and then fades off in the vast emptiness you're in. maybe it'll be exactly what you needed or maybe it'll sound like a hellish eternity idk, but thanks for listening and coming to my ted talk <3

We are sure a buzz will build up around the music of Øyvind. His debut EP Aviation shows all the signs of a multi-dimensionally talented producer. It features a blend of songwriting sensibilities, experimentation with sound and a modernistic chic that can be found in some of the best club trax nowadays. The EP kicks off with "Puls" a track that brings just the right blend of introspection and energy
often walking a tightrope between the two. Slightly disturbing and hugely impressive are the baselines and the melodies that combined highlight one colossal iceberg of a sound, in collusion with a very lively, hand-cranked jazzy beat programming. It is all about atmospheres and space with an amazing feel. "Floater" shows a superb emotional balancing act of sounds rich and mighty in texture combined with the brittle whisperings of vocals that layer on top of each other, all done in a slow motion act. An unorthodox breakdown at halftime has birds singing and wind chimes doing their own melodies before the track bounces back into the wailing of heavenly creatures to create that unique intimate and warm style of his.
"Fønvind" sounds in the beginning like sugar in a hurricane. But as the track evolves which happens quite fast, a heavily pitched organ sound paths the way for the track to emerge. Goose - bumps
guaranteed here! By times it features glimpses of a jazz-infused house track with sumptuous chord changes and odd gentle sounds but a second later it will have killed off any of these associations
with one stroke to become again a piece of electronic music.
"Fells" is an epic „roaring“ sound sculpture. A piece of ambient music that leaves out any beat components to ficus only on the modulation of a single sound. We’re so used to being handed things on a plate, whereas I’m interested in the journey one might make to find out what those sounds are.

After the recent release of Leipzig via Porto-based rising
talent Salomo, Burnin' Music follows up with the next
release by label boss Thomas Lesnier AKA Pegasvs.

A year since the success of 'Drinking With My Eyes', his
second outing on the label 'Closer To The Sun'; is the
talented producer showcasing a more melodic side to his
work. Warm and relaxed, the soft keys hook from the
track’s opening seconds, with the kick building an essential
groove. The buildup is subtly engaging, virtuoso keys
player Rude Jude adding jazz infused flavors that never
detract from Pegasvs’ smooth flow. Like the title suggests,
this lush production&#39;s arrival is timely, as if created to
soundtrack the recent warm weather and first days of
summer.

Taking inspiration from world travels and meditative times in
his native Marseille, ‘Closer To the Sun’ sounds like
memories brought back to his London base and translated
to relate to the city.

Fellow countryman Laroye (Tiff’s Joints, Magic Black,
Visions Inc.) is on impressive form for the remix, creating a
drums groove that sounds like a forgotten classic from the
peak of the bruk-movement. Laroye takes Lesnier’s
blueprint and opens up the track to its full potential, lending
soft background vocals to complement Abi Flynn’s lead (Tru
Thoughts Records, Incognito).

Having worked with Emanative and Atjazz among others,
Ben Hawden’s contribution cannot be underestimated, for
like Rude Jude in the original, his flute work adds an extra
ethereal dimension to the layering of harmonies.

The release is a perfect example of when the sum of
creative talents is greater than their individual contributions,
luckily for us, the result is two memorable dancefloor tracks.
