Joshua David Kaye, best known by the stage name NOISE is a British avant-garde artist, author, writer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.

Born in London, Joshua grew up the eldest son of a chartered accountant and insurance broker. Showing creative prowess at an early age, he started playing the piano at age six, later starting opera in his teen years. 

Having graduated with a BA from Birkbeck, University of London and an MSc from the University of Edinburgh, he is now a PhD student at Royal Holloway, University of London. All degrees in English Literature.

He now lives in London, where he continues to release music independently, as well as articles and music reviews. Some of his musical influences include: Fela Kuti, Brian Eno, Pierre Schaeffer, Can, Kate Bush, Jon Hassell, The Beatles, Björk, film director Jean Luc Godard and french philosopher Jacques Derrida.
