PREMIERE: Kag Trinity - Weirdo's Computer [Ship City Grooves]

Label Co-Founder 'Swales' offers up his first release on @rhythmdepartmentrecords with’ The House Vibe EP’. A feel good mixture of genuine house vibes guaranteed to make you move.

A1 - ‘I Can’t Let You Go’ kicks off the EP on a high with infectious vocals, brass stabs and jackin’ drums all tied together by a formidable piano arrangement. 

A2 - ‘The One’ takes a sleazy turn into a flawless late night house cut. Featuring gritty Rhodes stabs and hypnotising vocals it describes the story of a personal connection to the music on the dance floor.

B1 - ‘Feel The Energy’ on the flip side ups the tempo once again and delivers the ideal combination of house and garage. Expect lush instrument licks and rolling drums perfect for any occasion. 

B2 - ’Thinkin’ closes the EP. Last but most definitely not least, the track takes a decisively more mellow approach than the rest of the EP utilising chopped vocals, xylophone melodies and filtered chords. Perfect to tide you over until sunrise.

After his first techno EP on "Raven Sigh" under his alias "Plank", Cane Corso returns with a new release on "Special Species Records".
This new EP, available on tape (alongside the Italian producer Jacopo SB), is one in which the French producer from Bordeaux delivers an acid and breakbeat house offering inspired by the jungle and rave scene of the 90's.
The general atmosphere is energetic, structured by TR909 (sometimes 707 like it is the case in "Tropical Funk") and powerful breaks on which distorted and acidic 303 bass lines come on top.
Wide pads made of SEM and DX7 bring color and emotion to these tracks, blending paradoxically warmth and melancholy together.

" Selecting tunes for releases on Samurai Music is difficult as there is so many great tunes on offer. The absolute cream of what we get sent makes it to releases on vinyl, so resisting the temptation of digital only releases creates a backlog of high quality tunes. Outliers is a collection of music from the Samurai family of artists that were all in contention for vinyl release, but for one reason or another slipped through the cracks. Most of these are still in heavy rotation in many of our DJ sets, so rather than hogging them, we put together a collection for a Bandcamp only release. No DJ promos have been sent out, and most have never been played by more than a few select Samurai DJ’s and the producer themselves. Outliers shows the depth of talent these producers have with these sitting on their HD’s without a home. We don’t plan on moving into the digital only release field any time soon so maybe we can have this series as a semi regular substitute. "
