My thus far only dancable live set, and the only released thing from the Zyr-Tech project, from Entropy's [bun.ka] VIII party in 2003. Organizing that party plus being busy with other stuff gave me little time to prepare for this live set... Made with Amiga 500 and Korg Electribe EA-1. Located at on “co-op row” at he corner of Illinois and Race, less than a block from Urbana's vibrant Market at the Square, Redbrick Co-op boasts colorful rooms, raised vegetable beds, covered bike parking, and plenty of outdoor activity/leisure space.   
Redbrick is 7 blocks from the University of Illinois campus, 3 blocks from downtown Urbana, and  2 blocks from the Urbana Free Library. At Redbrick, up to ten members live together collectively sharing communal space but individually renting rooms. Co-op member commitments include paying $125 per month into the shared food system, paying 1/10th of utilities, and pairing up with fellow members once a week to cook for the entire house.  Communal house dinners are the backbone of life at Redbrick.  Members also share house choirs and attend weekly house meetings.
Redbrick strives to be an example of sustainable collective living to the surrounding community. Co-op members share a common desire to live in a  dynamic social space in the heart of west Urbana vibrancy.

Redbrick2 - 2 (House of Snack)

Nathan Wells: The sound elements are comprised of: sample of sounds of my M249 Squad Automatic Weapon (her name was Lolita) firing, captured sounds from WILL 90.1 fm radio of monastic women's voices, field recording of Cicadas in the summer time, 303 bassline synthesizer Narrative: Lolita performs a cadenza in the opening of the sequence. Her spats sound like the crackle of a raging furnace fire. This sound hearkens back to her 6 hour performance on April 9th, 2004 on Main Supply Route Tampa in Iraq. The monastic sound of women's voices cycle represent a trained display of appreciation and reverence for Lolita, the prima donna of this sequence. Cicadas are warm memories of home that a soldier carries but also the violence of nature that a soldier must endure in the field away from home (Cicadas manifest an aggressive tone at 1:45). The quantized and driving bassline of the 303 synthesizer relentlessly pulses through the sequence moving through menacing and questioning tones without time to process, similar to emotions through a traumatic experience.
