"I made the album this spring during an intense creative period back home in Stockholm. I was obsessed with my studio, I wanted to spend all my time awake there. I found out I was getting evicted from it, this sudden chock turned into a decision to do this album. It made sense, like an "end of an era" thing. I was pretty isolated back then, spending almost all my time outside of the studio with my daughter Bozi. She snapped the cover photo while I was picking out records for a gig. I never wanted to leave the studio during these months, but I realise now how the breaks with Bozi worked for the process - they gave me space to reflect on the music I was making. Born out of the ashes of Darkwood Dub, one of the Balkans’ most revered alternative rock bands during the ‘90s/’00s, Bella Technika is the latest project of Bojan Drobac, the group’s guitarist and main songwriter. Joined by former bandmate bass player Milorad Ristić as well as opera singer Katarina Jovanovic, amongst others, Bojan has found a new direction with Bella Technika.

Bella Technika join forces with Super Weird Substance for Substance Select Vol.2, which features three remixes and an original production from the band’s debut ‘Section’ LP, released last year.

Continuing their prolific form, Greg Wilson and Ché Wilson provide the first remix, taking album opener ‘Reinvented Daily’ into psychedelic territory with vocoder and dub fx.

"My father was born in Puerto Rico and my mother was born and raised in Madeira, a Portuguese island off the coast of Morocco. Waves and dance music have a lot in common, the way they provide release through repetition. In Madeira, the people have an intimate relationship with the ocean, one of both respect and fear. The island is mountainous, with rocky beaches along the sides of cliffs. It beckons you, and when you’ve succumbed, the high tide comes in and pushes you back out. This LP is my love song to the ocean’s depths. The way we look toward its vastness and accept that we will never fully know what’s underneath. Yesterday we said our final farewells to Andrew, with beautiful and moving eulogies from Bobby G and Ian, Andrew's brother, as well as a couple of other lovely tributes from colleagues from the book world and Carcassone. A fitting send off for a friend of our who's wit, wisdom and friendship I will miss for the rest of my life. As I know we all will. We laughed and we cried and it was a fitting send off to a truly special man and friend.. Sending deepest condolonces to his lovely partner Lizzie, and Ian and Bob his brother and Dad and of course his musical compadre and special friend Nina. Love you matey and it hurts...Cant believe we will never see you again, but in the words of The Scream "your light shines on"
