I've done some 12-tone-like work in my early experimental days of making music, but very little of it.  It's an acquired taste for sure, but nice work with this 'movement'. :)

12-tone...we had that at school, some 12-tone pieces are hard listening to, more effects than music, but this is different here, reminds me even a little Bach (though Back was a lot earlier), walking through several different keys which could also be labeld as 12-tone......nice work

It's quite rare to hear attractive and convincing things, in a ‘classical’ style, on SC. But there are many here, in this account. Bravo and respect, Mark!

I enjoyed this very much, especially after a few listens and it’s inspired an interest in this style of composing. Thanks for sharing this piece!

A new composition inspired by a friend on Threads who posted a sunrise photo in Arizona. I love the quiet and still of the morning and I always find a sunrise peaceful, calming and a renewal of spirit for the day.

Lyrics:

A brush of gold where the shadows had drawn
Sunlight on the horizon, a brand-new day
Chasing away all the troubles that fade


Smiles spread like wildfire

I like the radio like compressed effect you get from the first recording on the second recording  too so you get a naturally unusual mix by doing nothing else other than play it twice

I am a British composer, who has studied composition privately with British composer Peter Nickol https://www.impulse-music.co.uk/peternickol/ (although I am largely self-taught). I have also studied piano (privately) with concert pianist Ekaterina Shetliffe. 
My music contains elements of impressionism, and musical modernism; I have also explored 12-tone composition.
For several years now, I have been developing my own composition technique, which focuses on the liminal area between stochastic and spectral music, which I intend to use in my future compositions.

Composers who have influenced me include Schumann, Chopin, Schoenberg, and Ligeti; however my formative musical inspiration is the music of Debussy.
