Zunesha, the experimental pop project by Berlin-based Producer/Singer/Songwriter Josiah Simonds, explores what it means to find oneself in a world crowded by superficial social norms. 

Zunesha built his skillset as a producer and songwriter through his work in a pop duo called CANDYBOY that he founded with his closest friend Sam Snyder in 2019. Together releasing “CAVITIES-DEMOS” in 2020 and the full-length album “Opus” in 2023. 

Since moving to Berlin later that year, Josiah started his new project as Zunesha; matching the name he had given to his cello years prior. He creates dreamy introspective songs brimming with hope for the future while acknowledging the pain of the past; exploring his queer identity with lyrics inspired by relationships, lust, and the inherent beauty in imperfection.

His recordings and performances often feature extended cello techniques and improvisation alongside live effects processing to stretch the limits of the instrument's acoustic character. Uniting this sound with other lush instrumentation including guitars, electronic sound design, and smooth vocals. Zunesha provides captivating experiences for his audience while pushing the boundaries of his skillset to create truly transformative work.

Stefan Knauthe is a music producer, composer and synthesist with a lifelong passion for electronic sound and music.
Berlin based since 1988, he has witnessed and contributed to the city's rise to capital of electronic music
Becoming an Ableton Certified Trainer in 2012 he now concentrates on his career as an education professional. Stefan holds a master's degree in creative music production, teaches several degree workshops at Catalyst Institute for Creative Arts and Technology (formerly dBs music Berlin) and provides lectures for instituions all over Germany. Other activities include leading Catalyst's electronic music summer school program. He also runs regular workshops about modular synthesis with appearances at large conventions such as Superbooth and Loop.
Stefan offers specially tailored one on one training at any level of knowledge. His field of expertise includes sound synthesis, music production, recording and mixing.

Stefan delivered training to Tiefschwarz, Soundwalk Collective, Dinamite, Austra and many other well known artists.
He was signed as a composer to Warner/Chappell Music and Hansa Music Publishing and has worked with leading record companies such as Universal, Warner, Sony Music, Renaissance Music, Ministry of Sound, etc.
Musical colaborations include German pop music artists Sarah Connor, Inga Humpe (2Raumwohnung) and Schiller. Further German producer Harold Faltermayer and British DJ James Zabiela.
