ENERGY + HONESTY + PASSION = EVOLOVE

Fronted by charismatic vocalist Lucy Levinsohn, alt-rockers EVOLOVE will release their sophomore Ep Breaking Heartstrings, the inaugural release on the band’s very own HeartChord Records. In addition to being available via iTunes and other digital outlets, Hot Topic stores and Torrid outlets will offer a version on CD as well as exclusive band apparel.

Systematically erecting a delicate balance between soaring melodies and aggressive elegance, Breaking Heartstrings represents a natural evolution expanding upon the musical footprint of 2012: Countdown to the End, an auspicious debut mixed by Brian Virtue (Audioslave, 30 Seconds to Mars, Deftones) that fostered an array of key placements on ABC's top-rated teen drama Pretty Little Liars as well as MTV’s hit shows Made, True Life and Teen Mom.

Amps and emotions on overdrive embolden Heartstrings as first single “Wake Up Call” carves a psychological hole in the center of the sun with its penetrating urgency igniting a meteor shower of wattage. Led by the twin stack, guitar attack of Dave Corsile and Colby Jensen and bolstered by the propulsive low-end theory of bassist Billy Berman, it’s a four-minute gut-check that packs a heavyweight wallop.

It’s no head fake. “Wake Up Call” has the potential to unite a nation of “broken heartstrings,” so to up the ante; Levinsohn recently collaborated with Swedish audiovisual phenom Iggi Oggard (Piñata Protest) on an elaborate story-driven music video. Filmed during one twenty-hour day on a horse ranch in the celebrity-filled hills above Mulholland Drive, its visual arc is a mélange of campy revelry, old western folklore and a dab of voodoo. A late July premiere is scheduled.

Rounding out the remainder of the five-song Ep, producer Michael Eisenstein (Letters to Cleo, The Posies, Cruiserweight) adds a trademark pop sheen to the mid-tempo “Irony of Life,” the anthemic alt-rock of “Four Walls,” the theatrical Iron Maiden dynamism of “Fear (Is A Four Letter Word)” and the passionate yearning of “Nothing But Me” which brings to mind power ballads by Red Hot Chili Peppers, Shinedown and Staind.

Last summer, EVOLOVE (pronounced Eh-Voh-Luv) were thrust into the national spotlight as finalists of the FreeCreditScore.com band search. Debuting the group’s commercial during the MLB All-Star game on FOX, the spot amassed millions of impressions across broadcast and cable spectrums. Significant airplay on outlets such as ESPN, CNN and CNBC led to further exposure on MTV and LA’s KTLA TV.

Congealing the TV awareness with incessant touring, EVOLOVE was a featured artist during Hot Topic’s successful “Shop Till You Rock" tour before commencing on a non-stop canvassing of festivals, bars, all-ages clubs, high schools and key industry events including the 2011 Winter NAMM Convention and the 25th Annual SXSW Music Festival in Austin, TX.

This summer, EVOLOVE put the rubber to the road once again on their first-ever cross-country jaunt. Joining them for the initial batch of dates are Hollywood hard rockers Stitched Up Heart, whom also have a new Ep on the horizon. Both bands will then assimilate an axis point of a Reinforcement Tour triumvirate coalesced by ethereal metal quintet Gemini Syndrome and its lead prognosticator, Aaron Nordstrom.

No truer words can be spoken of Louisiana recording artist, producer, writer, and entrepreneur, Fiend.  Already boasting two gold records, a Grammy nomination, a successful independent record label, a lucrative management company, a boutique clothing line and a burgeoning film company, Fiend continues to drive his career to new heights.

When asked how Fiend maintains the drive and passion required to fuel his sustained career success, his reply is straight to the point.  "I do this to provide for my family because I have to.  Secondly, I must advance my legacy as an artist, musician and entrepreneur.  I want to push the envelope and show the world that there are still artists out here who can record cutting edge music that is rooted in the past, standing in the present while branching out into the future.”  It is this sentiment that has taken this Hollygrove, New Orleans native to unprecedented heights for over twenty years.

Fiend began his career as a teenager, landing a gig free-styling on New Orleans’s hottest radio station, Q-93 FM.  Fiend quickly became a voice of New Orleans, and was signed to a local record label where he released his debut LP,The Baddest Mutha Alive.  The record instantly became a regional classic and is still a record that is still highly sought after by collectors of New Orleans hip hop. Regrettably, Fiend’s tenure with his first label was cut short when the label folded, leaving Fiend without a home until 1997, when he inked a game-changing deal with Master P’s No Limit Records.
 
During his tenure with No Limit Records, Fiend appeared on over 20 gold and platinum No Limit albums including his two solo full length releases, the There’s One in Every Family, and Street Life.  Both albums achieved Gold status, and vaulted Fiend into the spotlight as one of the most influential Southern rappers in the game. 

In addition to his talents as a recording artist, Fiend also contributed writing credits for various No Limit acts including, Master P.  After years of continued success as an artist, writer and developer of talent for No Limit Records, Fiend felt that a major change was necessary.  With multiple options on the table, Fiend opted to leave No Limit to take full creative control of his career and create his own independent record label, FE Entertainment.  FE Entertainment provided the opportunity Fiend needed to expand his musical horizons and reap the full financial benefits of his work.  The loyal fanbase that Fiend had built afforded him the opportunity to build his own empire, and begin to foster the careers of other around him. “After leaving No Limit, it was only right to start a company to further my art for me and others.  The experience I had gained as an artist put me in a position to be able to develop new acts while still maintaing control of my own future.”
Under the banner of FdE Entertainment, Fiend released five albums totaling over 300,000 units sold independently.  Chief among his indie releases is the LP, The Headbussas Vol. 1, a famed collaboration project featuring Fiend with 3-6 Mafia’s DJ Paul and Juicy J).  On the shoulders of the the lead single from the record, "That’s How It Happen to Em", the record sold over 190,000 Soundscan units independently.  His underground compilation projects, Can I Burn Vol. 1 and Can I Burn Vol. 2, have both sold over 40,000 Soundscan units and counting.  The Go Hard or Go Home compilation introduced Corner Boy P, a known member of the Jetlife family, to the world and the subsequent LP, The Addiction, garnered Fiend accolades as a producer.  

After independently selling hundreds of thousands of records worldwide, Fiend landed a publishing deal with Mike Caren of Atlantic Records. Caren immediately introduced Fiend to producer Jim Jonsin and the two wrote Twister’s hit single entitled “Girl Tonight.”, which landed on the top ten on the Billboard Singles charts.  Fiend also earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Single for Lil Wayne’s Don’t Get It (Misunderstood) from the classic LP, The Carter III.  Fiend continued to work with Caren and Atlantic Records as A&R and a writer for Atlantic where, according to Fiend, he “discovered a lot of talent and made a lot people wealthy.”

It was a dark summer night in Berlin 1992 and thunder was breaking the blackened sky apart, when a hooded figure put a bundle of cloth infront of the doorstep of the Oaxs', and as he rang the doorbell, a laughter could be heard, gently blowing through the streets as if whispered by the wind itself, and with a flash of light and some quite over-the-top sparkly effects the hooded figure vanished as if it had never set foot on the threshold of said housing. Yet, not being accustomed to time and place it had travelled to, it misjudged two crucial points: first, that the supposed threshold was actually a garbage dumb (in his defence: it was one of the livelier ones in town, like, medium garbagy) and the aforementioned doorbell was nothing other than a broken parking-ticket machine, and 2. that although there was actually a family answering to the name Oax residing there, they just so happened to be a clan of kindhearted, yet sly and funky racoons. When MotherOax awoke from her furry sleep, she picked up the little bundle and was surprised to find in there, a baby. Since she and FatherRacoonMcOax, second of his name, Lord of McOax-Motte and the surrounding garbage, had failed to provide children to the clan, they decided to raise it as their own, and teach it their sly, racoony way of living. Thus began the adventures of Bardy Oax. Or not. I don't really remember.
