At the cry of the first bird, they began to crucify Thee, O Swan!
Never shall lament cease because of that. 
It was like the parting of day from night.

Ah, sore was the suffering borne 
By the body of Mary’s Son,
But sorer still to Him was the grief 
Which for His sake
Came upon His Mother.

Woe to you Zion who crucified Christ!
Bless’d are you, O Church, for you offer praise

The Pure One was struck but he stayed silent
They shouted against Jesus with hatred:
“Crucify – the son of Joseph
He deceived – and insulted us”
See, O earth – how they have – rejected – their Healer!

Sweet, the sinful woman’s voice
Saying to the perfumer, "Give me oil and
take gold in payment.
Give me the best oil so that
I may mix it with the tears of my eyes and
I will go anoint
The First Born of the Most High.
My trust is in God that, by this oil, my sins
Will be forgiven."
When she came and brought the oil
To our Lord, He saw her faith, Halleluiah,
And forgave her sins
