Lyon, France’s LB aka LABAT inaugurates his new imprint Poumpet Records this February with its first single, ‘Feel The Beat’, backed by a remix from Australia’s partiboi69.

Over the past seven years Strasbourg-born now Lyon-based, DJ, Producer and Live Act LB aka LABAT has been soul drenched, dusty House, Techno, Electro and Downtempo grooves via the likes of Wolf Music, Steel City Dance Discs, Groovedge Records and course his own Alélah Records run alongside Polow with a focus on cassette and vinyl releases. Here though we see LB aka LABAT open a new chapter in his career with the launch of his new imprint Poumpet Records which will be dropping a single every month throughout 2022 alongside remixes from some kindred spirits along the way.

To set the tone of Poumpet Records, LABAT launches with debut single ‘Feel The Beat’, a dynamic rave-tinged groove fuelled by hip-house vocal chants, crunchy, organic drums and an amalgamation of jazzy keys, wandering strings and airy atmospherics throughout its near eight-minute duration.

Mutual Pleasure and Unprotected Records artist partiboi69 also steps in on remix duties to kick things off, upping the energy levels even more with a robust, broken rhythm and snaking arpeggio bass hooks ebbing and flowing amongst fragments of the original’s vocal lines and ethereal pads.

Once again LABAT delivers something completely unique with ‘Lambo’, his sounds is undefinable and traverses through genres and influences while somehow always sounding emphatically his. Here with ‘Lambo’ he brings a contemporary twist to the Hip-House genre, fusing choppy vocal chants with his signature robust, crunchy drum sound, rave tinged
melodies and mesmeric atmospherics across the compositions four-minute duration.

Following on from his most recent Steel City Dance Discs release, with his 2022 EP Skincare, French powerhouse LB aka LABAT has now marked his return to the label with his latest single, Speed Of Love.

Speed Of Love is a direct insight into another side of LB’s sound, as the producer layers melancholic piano melodies with soft vocal work and a series of rising synths and chords, creating a uniquely emotive soundscape. Accompanied by a softened four-to-the-floor drum pattern which is coated by a warm bassline, the track feels both nostalgic, and deeply heartfelt.

Following Bob Sinclar’s white island themed podcast, ‘Axtone Presents’ is happy to welcome Swedish DJ, producer, and songwriter, Adrian Lux to the airwaves. Having made a name for himself fusing his own style of Indie and Dance, Adrian first broke onto the scene via his 2010 single ‘Strawberry’. After earning a Grammy nomination and becoming certified Platinum in Australia, for ‘Teenage Crime’, Adrian released his self-titled album in 2012 on Ultra Records, featuring singles such as ‘Burning’, ‘Boy’, and ‘Fire’.

After debuting his impending single on Axtone, Adrian progresses into the podcast highlighting artists such as Gregor Tresher and Paul Kalkbrenner for his influencers and top tunes. Naming ‘Everywhere’ by Fleetwood Mac as his guilty pleasure, Adrian moves into the mix focusing on the deeper and more melodic side of house music, featuring tracks from Eric Prydz, Pig & Dan, and Fehrplay.

Using the platform to debut Adrian’s new single, ‘Axtone Presents’ continues to surprise and innovate, while featuring renowned artists from all over the world. With numerous curveballs still to come, fans and listeners alike can look forward to exciting times for the future of Axtone and ‘Axtone Presents’.
