'Men Who Run' by Italian film music composer Giorgio Giampà belongs to smoKings (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack), the soundtrack album of the eponym creative documentary directed by Michele Fornasero and produced Simone Catania (Indyca, IT) in co-production with Ventura Film (CH). The soundtrack album is to be released digitally on 18.12.14.

About the docu-film 'smoKings':

Synopsis: The Messina brothers are Yesmoke, a little tobacco company based in modern day Turin, Italy. Originally, Yesmoke was an online store for cigarettes selling its products all over the world. Every day millions of people would buy cheap packets of Marlboro, Camels and Lucky Strikes online. When sales reached over one hundred million, "Big Tobacco" started to fight the "Little Guys" and sued them for 550 Million dollars, obligating them to shut their website down.

The two brothers decided to build their own cigarette manufacturing company in the outskirts of Turin, taking the fight to Philip Morris in an effort to level the playing field. Their goal is to take revenge and to attack tobacco multinationals by every means at their disposal. But today, the Italian government too and their severe regulations has changed the course of this on-going debate. So the two brothers are even more dedicated to try and fight against the system. smoKings is like a gangster movie, in that there are not good guys here, just small bad guys fighting big bad guys. Who's going to win this unfair battle?

Over Christmas 2014 I needed a break from recording
my album, searching online for a song I recalled from
my youth, I fell into a rabbit hole of thousands of
YouTube playlists and posts, rediscovering the songs
my friends and I would gather and listen to as
13 & 14 yr olds every Saturday in East Berlin on Radio DT64
(now Berlin's Radio Fritz).

I stumbled back to the future, collecting over 5000 songs
on YouTube, learning for the first time the artists behind
the songs we heard almost 25 years ago.

The forthcoming trilogy is the result of 18 month
of building edits from YouTube recordings and stitching
them together off-line. I could not include every song,
nor indeed even the entire tracks from this small period
until 1993, so this is my personal history of electronic
music arriving in Berlin.

This trilogy will not be sold, it was a labor of love,
born of nostalgia and made for sharing.

Founded by Luc van Ruler, always guided by his brother in arms Coen Witteveen, Plastik.Soldiers here to serve the good, on the frontline of the battle for new quality music.
In this new single and EP “Short Days” they propose their idea of Techno-Jazz which sounds big, bold, danceable, dynamic, explosive, edgy, trippy and transcendental. Their music is influenced by 70's jazz-fusion as well as some oriental atmospheres and some pop glitches, all deeply rooted on some solid and chunky grooves.
The title track “Short Days” it's a sure hit with its sax hook and techno-pop arrangement. It expresses the new concept proposed by Plastik.Soldiers a techno-jazz which is fun but also “dense” in musical qualitiy and ideas. With the track comes a great video with a strong visual character which is the perfect complement to the music of Plastik.Soldiers.
