In Cue was a Pacific Northwest Alternative Rock collaboration between Alex Varkatzas and Clint Warren hailing from the same geographic area where Nirvana and Soundgarden got their start. The band’s sound flourishes with shoegaze and ambiance as they weave between pensive, heavy, midtempo rock, riffs, and atmosphere reminiscent of early 2000s Metal. The pair's vocal interplay (Alex taking the highs and Clint taking the lows) makes for a rich, dense, and enthralling concoction, powering through various trips through dark nights of the soul and mind-expanding excursions into the wild. In Cue’s songwriting announces haunting romanticism and deep spiritual yearning that collide in beautiful melancholy. It’s a diverse but singular statement, like the work of their predecessors, Thrice, Atreyu, Avenged Sevenfold, and Soundgarden. Plastic Army, insistent in its bluesiness, bleeds distortion and emotion, like a nerve, exposed. Simply put, IN CUE is a musical revelation.
