Chaparrals are an indie rock quintet based out of Boston, MA, creating expansive sounds that range from neo-psychedelia to Neil Young-esque cosmic Americana. Not tied stylistically, the diversity of their musical backgrounds is evident throughout their music. Best described as being strongly melodic with an emphasis on reflective lyricism and instrumental thematic parallelism, the Chaparrals weave organic and synthetic sounds alike in and out of a lush sonic backdrop of ethereal and haunting beauty.

Started as a solo bedroom project in the winter of 2010, songwriter Erich Wiernasz (vocals/guitar) was at the seeming end of a long-term relationship and suddenly confronted with an empty apartment, a couple guitars, and a bunch of dusty, unused recording equipment that his musician uncle (ex-Dumptruck and touring guitarist for Steve Wynn, John Wesley Harding) had given him years back after showing an interest in songwriting. What started as a simple sonic dalliance, led to long feverish nights, fueled by the only outlet that could provide solace at that time: the obsession and focus of creating music.   

With a sudden burst of raw creative output, Wiernasz sought the help of Ryan McGuire (upright bass/electric bass), a friend and Berklee School of Music graduate who studied classical composition in addition to being a former member of Kayo Dot and founding Boston avant-garde metal band Ehnahre. The two soon enlisted Matthew Masuzzo (drums/percussion) and Ryan Kozin (electric guitar). Masuzzo had worked on a number of projects including the garage rock band Golden Spurs; Kozin, a college friend and jazz trained guitarist had reconnected with Erich during this period of creativity and was eager to contribute.  The final addition was Erich’s childhood friend and elementary school classmate Ryan Earls (keys/guitar/vocals)—a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist with a background in jazz, a capella and classical vocal training, Earls brought further vocal and textural layering to the project in 2012, helping to cement an even more dynamic direction.

Chaparrals—whose name was inspired by an admiration for the band Woods (and which also serves as a subtle nod to the band’s early more 1950s, Everly Brothers' country pop inspired sound)—site influences that range from the melodicism of Paul McCartney's vocal themes and bass playing; the eerie and wintry elements of Radiohead’s complex arrangements; the baroque pop of Grizzly Bear; the pastoral leanings of Fairport Convention; and the psych pop bliss of Tame Impala; in addition to a general appreciation for the deliberate musicianship and innovation of modern jazz players, among others.

Most of these are demos and/or just foolin' around on a 4-track (yeah, that's right cassette tapes and no tools, lol) from a long time ago. All tracks played by me. All music written by me. Solitude is bliss. (Tame Impala reference - Much Love, Kevin!)

I've also begun using some of my original digital art as thumbnails for the tracks.

A fearless artist with one vision; writing music to touch heartbearts, lighting up the room. As a songwriter, twelve songs are aired internationally on radio and TV. Goldin is a bright light creating a difference in the name of music.

Growing up together in Hobart and debuting in 2009, LAVISTA have since supported and played along side acts such as; Empire of the Sun, The Panics, Amy Meredith, Little Red, British India and Tame Impala.

In August 2010 they started recording their first official self titled EP with producer / engineer Rob Long (Faker,ThirstyMerc).

Late 2011 - present LAVISTA is excited to be working with Stuart Newman producer / mixer releasing our featured track "Freedom". Be sure to have a listen!

Brian Revels is energy and angst in a comet trail of music that is as perceptive as it is entertaining. He hearkens back to an earlier time, a bygone era when words were true and hearts were strong. His observations of Americana ring with authenticity, with
the rawness of earth, the clarity of rainwater and the depth of the sky.
 
He’s a wily veteran of the Atlanta, Georgia music scene, a multi-instrumentalist, a natural-born storyteller with a poetic edge. He helped to build the band City Mouse into a regional force before it was finally time to step out on his own.
 
He’s from folk and blues and country and bluegrass, an alternative to them all and a better man for their influences. The hole he’s worn in his guitar is not as large as the one he’s worn in his heart with the cares of the lives he hopes he can redeem one song at a time.
 
Be sure you see him now so you can say you knew him when – before the wider world discovers him and lifts him away. His timeless musicality will touch your soul with the drama, and the significance, of love lost and regained, of the human frailty that reduces and yet ennobles each of us.

This four piece alternative rock band from Galway, Ireland showcase a mature and commercially experimental sound in their EP ‘Olympians’ released in May 2015, recorded & mixed by Rocky O'Reilly (Oppenheimer, ASIWYFA, The Wonder Villains) at Start Together Studios, Belfast. A follow up to the band's Debut LP 'Dutch Buffalo,a perfect b lend of alternative rock with electronic influences released in June 2013, which received very positive reviews.

Their track ‘Olympus Mons’has been used  by the the Munster rugby team as their pitch entrance music for the 15/16 season. They have had a wealth of live experience supporting the likes of Tame Impala, And So I watch You From Afar, El Ten Eleven, The Redneck Manifesto, Alpha Male Tea Party & 100 Onces. They have also graced the stages of Irelands premier festivals such as Electric Picnic, Knockanstockan & Vantastival. 

They have just announced their debut UK show at The Old Blue Last, London on March 24th, 2016 powered by Robomagic and have been recently been long listed for the Glastonbury Emerging Talent competition 2016.
