I specialize in orchestral and pop arrangements, as well as in a mixture of the two.

In my compositions for video games, I focus on adaptive music structures. I aim to create reactive music that is algorithmically assembled during gameplay.

My music is linked with the visual elements of the game and, as a result, achieves a deeper emotional connection with the gamer. I try to emphasize gameplay mechanics through adaptive music to promote faster gamer reaction time and a better, more immersive experience.

Renan Javier Cabrera is a Canadian film composer working out of Vancouver, BC.

Renan began composing on the piano ever since he was 6 years old by ear and it was only until he heard Basil Poledouris' score in "Les Miserables" where he fell in love with film score.  As he plunged deeper into the world of film music, his compositions developed and mainly paid homage to his favourites such as: Ennio Morricone, Philip Glass, Hans Zimmer, Shigeru Umebayashi and many more.  

His compositions are mainly based on having a strong melodic presence and finding ways to develop these melodies into long lasting and memorable themes.   Some of Renan's works have made it into choreography pieces, short films, short story companion pieces and notably, a charity album to raise funds for the victims of Super Typhoon Yolanda.
