Welcome to the launch of The Singing Academic Podcast, a monthly podcast that explores topics and issues related to Musical Studies within the scope of Higher Education! This podcast was created with the intent to serve music majors and the professors that shape them for continued academic and creative endeavors.

In this pilot episode, we discuss how the podcast was formed, the idea behind the three origin series (Higher Ed Anonymous, Vocal Instructional Series, and Music Major 101), and our goals for future episodes.

Welcome to the Singing Academic! Join us in this monthly podcast as we discuss topics and issues related to Musical Studies within Higher Education. We offer support for Music Faculty & Administrators, as well as resources for current and prospective music majors. 

The Singing Academic Producer, Kristin Huggins, currently serves as the Fine Arts Division Chair and Professor of Voice at Trinity Valley Community College, where she teaches the following courses: Applied Voice, Italian, French, and German Diction, Music Appreciation, and American Popular Music, while also performing regularly in the DFW and greater Houston area.
