Karol G was born in Medellin, Colombian on February 14th. Her musical career began at an early age when she participated in school competitions and music festivals.

At the age of 14, while still in high school, she decided to participate in X Factor; it was on that reality show where she made her first appearance in the music industry.

Karol G studied music at la Universidad de Antioquia in Medellin and worked on her vocal techniques. She traveled to the United States to specialize as an entrepreneur in the music field and to study English. 

She returned to Colombia and began working as an independent artist until 2010 when Reykon “El Líder” offered her the opportunity to join him on his world tour. In 2012 Karol G achieved her first number one hit worldwide with the song “301” which sparked tours in countries like: Venezuela, Uruguay, Panama, United States, Puerto Rico, Aruba, Ecuador, Paraguay and Colombia.  With the video for “301” Karol G got to number one on HTV.

Her next single was “Amor de dos”, a song that she recorded alongside Puerto Rican artist, Nicky Jam. Again, achieving the one number spot on radio that she longed for. After achieving two hit songs, “301” and “Amor de dos”, she decided to release a single called “Ricos Besos”, a mixture of innocence and sensuality, a song that is still played in Colombia and throughout other countries.

She ended 2014 with two successful hits, which caught the attention of the public for their unique sound. “Mañana”, alongside Colombian artist Andy Rivera, reaching number one in radio stations throughout Colombia and in countries like Peru and Spain. 

The second single “Si te Confieso,” was pushed solely through digital platforms, achieving great results reaching over 200,000 views on Youtube within the first day of release. “Si te Confieso,” reached great success without releasing into radio.

J. Brown, a contemporary music maestro, continues to captivate audiences with his timeless creations. His musical journey commenced in the church, where he nurtured his passion through choir performances every Sunday. The Motown legacy deeply resonates within him, thanks to his mother, a former artist whose unwavering determination inspired him to pursue his musical aspirations.

Influenced by icons like Usher, Jay-Z, Jimi Hendrix, Nas, and Sting, J. Brown honed his craft and developed a distinctive sound. As an independent artist, he has achieved remarkable milestones, earning eight Top 20 singles and seven Top 10 hits on the R&B Billboard Charts. His first #1 single, “My Whole Heart,” dominated the charts for three consecutive weeks, marking a significant milestone in modern R&B. Recently, he celebrated his second #1 single, “If You Could See You,” which reigned supreme for two weeks, a testament to his undeniable talent and appeal.

J. Brown’s highly anticipated third studio album, “Just A Matter Of Time,” is a masterpiece that skillfully weaves soul, vulnerability, and raw emotion. The album’s lead single, “True Love,” is a powerful anthem of devotion and resilience. J. Brown’s declaration, “Even if I’m the last man on the battlefield, I’ll fight for True Love,” encapsulates the essence of unwavering love in the face of life’s challenges.

To bring this project to life, J. Brown collaborated with the GRAMMY® Award-winning producer and songwriter Carvin Haggins (Will Smith, Jill Scott, Musiq Soulchild).
Team, TheRing, spent seven months crafting profoundly personal and authentic songs.

Tracks like “Are You Still Mad” delve into the universal tensions of love and relationships with heartfelt honesty. J. Brown also collaborated with October London to create the standout track “JustA Matter Of Time,” a timeless and soulful piece born from their shared vision to create something extraordinary together. The song’s stirring melodies and poignant lyrics reflect the depth of their artistry.

Additionally, J. Brown worked with longtime collaborator Elijah Blake, who penned the nostalgic and poignant track “MAH DEAR.” Produced by Roark Bailey (Saweetie, Summer Walker, Kanye West, Chris Brown), the song delivers a fresh yet familiar sound reminiscent of Sam Cooke. It pays homage to timeless soul while bringing something new to the genre.

The album’s title, Just A Matter Of Time, reflects the highs and lows of love—a journey of wanting, finding, and sometimes losing it. “As the project came together, it became clear that this was about the many facets of love and growth,” J. Brown explains. “Naming the album Just A Matter Of Time felt organic, and I believe it will resonate deeply with listeners.”
