Jena Jang is a South Korean audiovisual artist, experimental musician, DIY instrument builder, and performance-based researcher based in Prague, Czechia. Their multidisciplinary practice centres on trauma healing through the intensity of live performance, focusing on the circulation of energy between artist and audience, building affective connections with non-human beings, and musically interpreting organic structures found in nature.

An experimental solo project indulging in the creation of artificial, or utopian soundscapes, which are formed in a maelstrom of improvisatory responses to prerecorded sound samples, loops and field recordings. The resulting soundscapes are partly pre-determined and fixed, yet at the same time highly volatile, very much like a static image which magically transforms itself when your gaze falls on it.

M.R. plays in even more secret bands, making music for radio and theater. His live performances are a blow to the current mood, combining electronics and voice, field recordings and beats, noise and silence. Säkkikangas through the mask not only wildly spits and spouts, but also takes a squeaky patch of wad of box-like noise forward.
