Unity grew up in Mid Wales on a diet of guitar bands, discovering funk and HipHop via the Beastie Boys. Influenced by Taskforce and Kae Tempest, Unity delivers poetic lyrics over boom bap and lofi HipHop beats, often collaborating with other artists both in the studio and live.   

A Graffiti Writer with a background in DJing and Breakin', Unity began her lyrical journey with a poetry slam win in Swansea in 2018. Her debut EP ‘Progress is a Process’ was released via Later Records in 2020, with a second EP ‘Garden of My Soul’ independently released in 2021. Her debut album 'Diving Deeper' (2021) and a third EP 'Red & Blue' (2022), both on Bard Picasso Records, were followed by 'The Witching Tree', an independently released EP in 2023. 

Unity has supported artists including Grandmaster Flash, Kae Tempest, Hollie McNish, Jam Baxter, Verb T, The Scribes, Truemendous, Lazy Habits and Blak Twang, and as a regular guest MC for Jazz Hiphop fusion band Dirty Alex. She has performed at festivals an events including BBC Radio 6 Music Festival, Big Love, Boomtown, Landed, Brecon Jazz Fringe, Wrexfest, Blue Lagoon, Focus Wales and New Skool Rules (Rotterdam). 

Recognised for her understanding of Hiphop culture and its application in community settings, Unity has spoken at events by Bristol University, Cardiff’s Festival of Voice and as far afield as Hong Kong University. She is a founding member of the Ladies of Rage network, and has written a chapter for a global Hiphopography book by professors from the Universities of Hong Kong and the Western Cape (South Africa), due out 2023.

Unity's side project Verbal Remedy, includes a live band with a loose collection of MCs and singers she had previously collaborated with. The band released their first single 'By The Sea' in 2024, packing out their debut show at the legendary Porters Club in Cardiff. Unity also puts on HipHop events and exhibitions under the Verbal Remedy name, representing all elements of HipHop culture.
