John Williams Conducts The Main Theme From Star Wars

My latest overdub is of my trombone choir arrangement of the "Throne Room and Closing Titles" by John Williams from the score to Star Wars Episode 4, "A New Hope."

This music truly captures the noble and victorious energy at the end of the film. I richly enjoyed doing this overdub as it readily connects me to my childhood.

This recording is rife with unabashed high Fs, G flats and Gs (listen for the last chord!!) but more importantly, I tried to capture the excited and hopeful spirit of the ending scene of the movie that started it all, "Star Wars Ep.4, A New Hope"

Star Wars - Throne Room And End Title

I shed a little tear at the movies when I realized that this would be the last time I experienced a new John Williams Star Wars score. 

I've seen a few "Rey's Theme" Transcriptions on the Tube but for me "The March of the Resistance" is the jewel of this soundtrack. It's classic Williams although a little simpler than his earlier stuff. 

No one writes like this anymore. The trick is how he can take something that has become as corny and cliche' as a march and give it true power in relevance. As great as this peace is on it's own it's even better in the context of the film. Johnny is truly a living treasure.
