For context:
It's a cover taken from M'Z's prism album, which focuses on concepts, and uses constraint to tell its stories.
The reflection is centered around the notion of Prism.
The goal is to create parallels between colors and musical modes (musical colors), but it is also a pretext to tell a more personal story in parallel.
Another of the driving ideas of this project is that everything is inevitably interpreted, no matter how hard we try to approach a totally objective truth, it will never really be the case.
This project tries to break down every particle, to analyze every atom, but each time it tries to transcribe a message, it will be biased by the translation that its own prisms and analysis filters produce.
Despite his efforts to find an objective point of view, he can only admit that his feelings will systematically influence his decisions and thoughts.
It will be the same for the style, while trying not to approach only one aesthetic and mixing all its influences, he will quickly realize that fusion even with an open mind remains a kind of musical label.
M being the guitar Z the machine, the idea is also to create a bridge between organic and electric/electronic music, a bridge between the code and its acceptance as the need to get out of the code. Released on December 27, 2017 in self production.

This song, specifically, is about the color yellow. It is the reaction of our emotions when we try to deny them and try to bury them very deeply, then they will feel rejected and try again, to capture our attention. So well buried they will manage to communicate with our subconscious that reigns in these places, together with this strange friend, they will then be able to play with our state of consciousness and we will be forced to adopt behaviors that will bring us closer to madness, until until we can finally find a way to better deal with these emotions, hitherto misunderstood, unheard and rejected.

Battle Scars

A song I wrote two years ago or more about my wife and her mother. Reflecting on the loss of a mother and how it affects the daughter so much and continues to hurt everyday five years later.
I gave Noobly the original demo and said imagine this.
We are on stage at the Albert Hall. You with an acoustic guitar and me on vocals with a full orchestra behind us. He said no pressure then and laughed.
It’s the only way I could express how big this sound needed to be.
Noobly loves a challenge and always delivers. I was blown away at what he had created it’s a home  studio masterclass of orchestration and production.
He also pulled out the original vocal part from the middle 8 and re-used it again as he thought it was more authentic than the new vocal.
A nice touch for me and nostalgic.
The anniversary draws near so now is a good time for the song to be released as a tribute.

Hey music friends, this is my very first open collaboration. I've been meaning to to do one for a little while now but was waiting for a track to come along that has enough open space for additions but that can also kind of stand on it's own. I thought this one fit the bill. It's a minimal beat that I created using the Volca Drum with just a few melodic lines produced in Korg Gadget. One of the lines is accentuated with the Minilogue. I hope a few of you will be inspired to try working with it!

Gurdjieff believed that most humans live their lives in a state of "waking sleep," in which they are largely unaware of their true nature and potential. He taught that through self-observation and conscious effort, individuals could awaken to their higher selves and gain access to a deeper understanding of the universe and their place in it.

One aspect of Gurdjieff's work that relates to the idea that the world as a simulation is his concept of "objective reality." He taught that most people are trapped in their subjective reality, which is distorted by their conditioning and beliefs. Objective reality, in contrast, is a more accurate perception of the world as it actually is, free from the distortions of individual perspective.

In this sense, Gurdjieff's work could be seen as a way of "hacking" the simulation of reality, by breaking through the illusions of subjective experience and accessing a more objective and truthful understanding of the world.

This is a song Chris wrote and asked me to play on. I love the lyrics and how they match the vibe of the song perfectly. He's playing guitar and bass, and I'm on the piano, slide, and organ. He told me it's supposed to be a whisper beneath the giant's bed as they tiptoe around under him, and that I should leave space for his breaths. This song is a love story of sorts, a temptress who is luring in this man with her wild ways, getting him to leave his normal mundane life behind and live with her in the forest of blue. In my mind this had a fairy tale feel to it but with a darker element...  The music I feel works great with the piano and strings, giving it a great atmosphere and really fits in well with the storyline

I fell back into writing during 2020 after a 20 year absence. I think the hiatus￼ must have done me a world of good as I haven’t stop writing since, with over 200 songs recorded in studio or demo form. It’s just great to be back doing it again and not having to rehearse in sweaty lock ups and constantly playing live. I have the comfort of my own small studio room and do everything remotely
Having previously only ever fronted bands, the most successful one being 90s psychedelic original underground indie band This Elegant Chaos. I finally bothered to learn guitar and keyboard in the past couple of years .I just wish I had bothered when I was 15 as I might be decent by now!
My songs on this page are just born out of being creative and probably don’t sound nothing like my influences unlike the band page on sound-cloud of This Elegant Chaos.

Influences include late 70s new wave, late 80s indie guitar bands and the 90s explosion of ￼￼the Brit pop era and anything else that’s decent, whatever the style. If it’s good it’s just good!

The demo songs have all been recorded on a Boss Mini BR80 that fits in the palm of my hand. 
It’s all my own work except the  collaborations that are listed above 
Always open to doing any collaborations with other Soundclouders, don’t be shy to ask.
