“They killed Musa in front of me.” Sharaf Janfar, 29, points with his finger to the exact place where a bullet struck the heart of a 16-year-old boy on Thursday, inside the facilities of the Khalil Suleiman hospital in Jenin, in the West Bank. Janfar has a mobile stand that sells coffee outside the hospital. He reopened the stand on Friday, after Israel ended its 60-hour incursion that killed 12 people, including the 16-year-old teenager, and detained hundreds of people.

Since its inception, Kuboraum has been shaping a vibrant community of people through countless events, collaborations, shared experiences, and art residencies. It is exactly this community of people, distinguished by its own values, culture, and aesthetics, that in turn shaped the project itself, allowing it to flourish and evolve genuinely.

The Kuboraum Sound Residency was born out of the desire to narrate an inclusive and diverse aesthetic through collaborations with artists from the contemporary experimental music panorama. Free from genre constraints, as a stylistic and political choice, it navigates through the spectrum of sound to demonstrate that very different artists, offering completely different genres, can organically cohabitate and enter a fluid dialogue with each other.

When listening to the compilation, the feeling will be that of listening to an album, where each contribution is not on its own but exists in relation to all the others. This project ultimately aims at creating new paths for those who keep their ears and minds open.

Coax's music is a masterful fusion of heavy, distorted drones and shimmering synths, blurring the boundaries between reality and fantasy. With meticulous attention to detail, his compositions create a profound sense of otherworldliness, seamlessly blending atmospheric textures with driving rhythms. The result is an enthralling mix of aggression and ethereality, designed to leave listeners spellbound.

The Light opens the EP with glowing synths and resonant bass, gradually unfolding into an immersive, otherworldly groove. The Way takes a darker turn, weaving eerie drones with intricate percussion for an entrancing effect. The Truth closes the trilogy with raw emotional intensity, where distorted textures and relentless rhythms create a gripping sonic experience.

The EP also features two stunning reinterpretations. ISB’s Remix transforms the track into a vast ambient journey, stretching the frequencies into an expansive, meditative exploration. Opake’s Remix injects an exciting, rising twist to the original groove, layering evolving melodies and dynamic rhythms for a fresh, kinetic take.

As his first official release, Dreams Shall Flesh is a bold statement, solidifying Coax's presence in the electronic music scene. Drawing inspiration from a diverse range of genres, his music offers the perfect sonic backdrop for those seeking to be lured into a dark and atmospheric world. With this debut, Coax sets the stage for a sound that is both dreamlike and visceral, a captivating exploration of the unknown.

In a world where humans are expected to watch their fellow humans get slaughtered in silence, we, artists from around the world, shall unite in solidarity. Following an open call launched by Malaise Vagal with the support of Agressive(s), dozens of artists donated sonic artworks to help raise funds for Ibrahim Badra. Ibrahim, a 22 year old graduate from Gaza was displaced from his home and is now documenting his daily life in the refugee camp of Deir El-Balah.

We call on fans, friends and strangers to buy a track or the entire volume of the compilation to help us bring Ibrahim to safety. No amount is too big or small.

All funds will be donated to Ibrahim Badra and Agressive(s) shall report on the amounts raised weekly.
