SOIL & "PIMP" SESSIONS is an explosive Japanese jazz band, comprised of six musicians; Shacho (agitator, spirit), Tabu zombie (trumpet), Motoharu (sax), Josei (piano), Akita Goldman (bass) and Midorin (drums).

At its core, the group is about giving pulsating live performances. SOIL & "PIMP" SESSIONS combine the highest musicianship with the coolest of cool sounds and atmosphere. Their brand of jazz is rough around the edges, unadulterated entertainment and constantly kept at boiling point.

Each member brings his own unique talent and perspective. They originally met at a club event in Tokyo in 2001. The Tokyo club scene was dominated by DJs until SOIL & "PIMP" SESSIONS arrived, breaking the mold as live pioneers. Calling their music "DEATH JAZZ", they gained recognition for performing an original form of aggressive alternative jazz. The band comments; "We always felt that in the world of jazz, there was an unwritten rule that the musicians were to concentrate on their techniques and the audience were simply there to admire, like a transmitter/ receiver relationship. We wanted to break away from that and create exciting jazz with far more interaction between the players and the audience". Shacho, who holds a rather unusual title in a jazz band as "the agitator", plays a key role in this by stirring and stimulating the audience.

It did not take long for SOIL & "PIMP" SESSIONS to become one of the hottest new bands in Japan and becoming favorites of major festivals including Fuji Rock. Their international breakthrough came when Gilles Peterson, the renowned British DJ, introduced the them through his Radio 1 show "WorldWide". In the summer of 2005, by invitation from Giles, the band traveled to the UK to perform on his program. The name spread further via the international jazz network and at the BBC World Wide Award later that year, SOIL & "PIMP" SESSIONS was awarded with the "John Peel Play More Jazz Award".

While continuing to perform in Japan, the band expanded their playing field performing in over 12 European countries and at major international festivals including Montreux and North Sea.

The band's album 'Pimp Master' was released in 2006 through Compost in Europe and Brownswood Recordings in the UK. 'PIMPOINT' is scheduled for early summer release in Europe and the UK by Brownswood Recordings.

I started to take my first steps in music very young, at the age of 7 years, to my own recordings on cassette and then reproduced. As early as 2011, I decided to study at a vocational school, where I was taught to use from Denon consoles until Piooner, 6 months were more than enough to venture out and alone in the world of music. 

I have marked my style in my country nights, with each anecdote happens to you, I am slowly learning, music is very wide and I think I will never finish study. 

As for my favorite programs for production are Fruity Loops, use 10; and Ableton Live 9. accommodated more I have those two, but do not rule to start using Logic Pro X or other. 

Among the artists I admire most are: Afrojack, Alesso, Avicii, Calvin Harris. 
With a very well made sleep, I am determined to continue advancing more every day, good music is going to go far.

Currently 30 years young, mikeDOE's already experienced tremendous success just from being your average local hometown public figure. as far remote from virtuosos aspirations as from pure minimalism, LIMOUSINE successfully expresses with a few notes what others would write on several pages, and fully embraces the creation of songs without lyrics yet full of emotions.
Untitled, this is how their first album, released in 2005 on the Chief Inspec- tor label, presented itself. It was testifying, with as much force as delicacy, of the band’s love for soundtracks composed by the likes of angelo Badalamenti for David lynch, neil young’s for Jim Jarmusch’s Deadman or ry Cooder for Wim Wenders’ Paris, Texas...
This is also probably why members of the Broadcast Club (autour de Minuit) chose the track Lila, featured on this album, to illustrate their short film of the same name, which went on to win an award at the Clermont-Ferrand Festival (jury’s prize, Télérama 2009 prize) and was nominated for the 2010 Césars (French film awards).
With «II», recorded at the Pigalle studios, LIMOuSInE goes further still by stating that as musicians coming from jazz and activists of the French independent scene, their influences also include the likes of Brian Eno or Air (Cosmos, Goodbye). References to their first album however transpire on titles such as Drianke or The Reindeer, used in the trailer of Bruno Dumont’s new film, Hors Satan, presented this year at the Cannes film festival, as part of the Un Certain Regard selection.
Visionary, this is what eventually should characterize the music of LIMOUSINE: Through nine titles and as many stories, the boys have reached beyond a nostalgia that nevertheless seems to hover above the album.
